Is anyone else planning their own Bachlorette party? REPOST fro 06 board

My matron of honor and bridesmaids (my moh) mostly.. is not organizing a thing. How nice of her!
I mean I did not expect a big thing but a nice little get together would have been nice..

oh well, I can make my own plans.. not a biggie I guess. Some history on my moh, she has not been supportive at all, not one bit. She's my Aunt and you would think family members would love and care about you and be happy for you.. guess not HER though.

I am planning most of it with my BM's because one of my sisters is underage, and I also want my junior bridesmaid to be able to go to part of it....

Oh, and maybe you are better off planning it yourself then.....some people are not good planners, or don't know how, so they don't even try! That happened to my friend.

I was recently asked to be a MOH I've already started planning the bach party. I think that is terrible what she is doing to you. If you have to plan it yourself I will be more then happy to give you advice and ideas!

I'm planning it WITH my MOH. I really didn't care if it was a surprise.

We're going to dinner, taking a limo to NYC, going to see the Wedding Singer on Broadway and then off to dance at the Culture Club! THIS Saturday!!!

Re: Is anyone else planning their own Bachlorette party? REPOST fro 06 board

I can totally relate, my matron of honor (own sister) totally slacked. I wanted to go to Myrtle, but she had talked to me and saidf that people couldn't afford it how about Atlantic City. I said okay and that was the last I heard of it. So I planned my trip to AC myself. turns out noone really wanted to go to AC anyway (why did she say it in the first place ). The rest of my BP didn't do anything because they didn't want to step on MOH toes. So I of course not knowing that got mad at my entire party. Now, my stepmom, and mom, my other MOH (step-sister) are planning a trip to the city. Not what I originally wanted but I am getting very excited. Try talking to the rest of your BP, they may be able to do something. After I blew up at everyone, they didn't really know what I wanted either and thought it was a lot more than what I wanted too.

I planned my whole party by myself and thought I was going to have to pay for myself but at least they did that. I am actually really glad I planned mine this way I got to do what I wanted and not the BP ( they are club people I am a bar person). It all worked out in the end.

Re: Is anyone else planning their own Bachlorette party? REPOST fro 06 board

yes! I only want to go to dinner and dancing, nothing major .. and I don't want people to blow alot of money. So I am taking the wheel and will decide when and where and all that. whoever wants to come is is more than welcome. anyway, my MOH isn't really into that anyway

I did! Kind of...I wanted to do that cruise to nowhere thing so I told my MOH what, when, where, how, etc. gave her the numbers and she's taking it from there.

Re: Is anyone else planning their own Bachlorette party? REPOST fro 06 board

I did, I wanted to do a joint party wiht the guys and do dinner on friday and wine tour on saturday. I am really particular when it comes to planning things and figured that I should just do it myself. My MOH helped out some and so did FH. It also seemed easier since i knew what i wanted and i know the area for me to plan it than try and have people from out of town plan it. Everything worked out great, FH and I had fun, our friends had fun.

Re: Is anyone else planning their own Bachlorette party? REPOST fro 06 board

Sort of... We're not having bachelor / bachelorette parties, but we're planning a big weekend away with all of our friends in AC.

We're doing the planning there, not the BP.
