Kelly - the private ceremony was what we had in mind all along and we had the freedom to do our wedding the way we wanted it to be. It was also a necessity...since we foot the entire bill ourselves. I love my dress as well...we've been together 11 years (prior to being married) - wearing white, to me, was pointless...plus, it was elegant, simple and showcased my tattoo rather nicely

It did showcase your tattoo nicely!
I am now trying to convince my FH to have a private ceremony. It is something I always wanted, but I thought I was nuts and that no one did it. Once, I saw your review and pics I realized that it is just what I want!!!

Thank you ladies very much for the kind words... even after 2 years. Love, love, love sugar sweet sunshine... for our past 2 anniversaries we've had our wedding cupcakes. They're still the best I've tasted...hopefully they're still around for at least the next 48 years.
Newsysuzy12 - we did do a separate reception in the city for 90 people. And we did do everything that's included in a reception - we made an entrance, we did the dances, speeches & thank you's. We had another cupcake cake & fed it to each other. The only thing we didn't do were the garter toss & bouquet toss - we as a couple had already agreed that we didn't want to do either event.
Montauk is a beautiful place to have a reception. My advice is that you should do everything you want..no one can tell you what's right or wrong, just because it's a "post-wedding" reception. I hope that has been helpful, sorry for the delayed response.
