NWR - Do you get nervous when you start a new job?

I start my new job tomorrow and i'm a bit nervous and anxious at the same time. it's been so long since i was 'the new guy'. i'm great around people, they call me a natural born salesman, so why am i nervous???

I think it's completely natural to be nervous when we're not in our natural environment...when things aren't obvious. I started a new job a little over a month ago and I felt the same way. It won't take you long to feel comfortable again. Good luck!

i am also always nervous - i think its because your 'unfamiliar'. you dont even know where the bathroom is - let alone who will help you with this or what dept. does that. also - you have no allies -you need to know the right people when working. who is going to stab you inthe back, steal credit for your hard work or stay let and help you with that presentation - its like being in a new school.

but - i always say the first week is the best. no one expects anything from you, mostly everyone is really nice to you, and many times the first few days lunch is free.

its after you start figuring out what it is your supposed to do that you really have to begin to work.

yes. i started a new job today and i was so nervous. i have been subbing and i got a call this morning to go in- they planned everything for me, but i still felt so lost.

I've always been nervous when starting a new job. We become so used to what we know.

Yes i do....very nervous. I'm a waitress, been doing it for a while and there are even just regular holidays when i get nervous....it's werid, but i am also a worry wart!!!
