I'm such a bad Catholic....NEED HELP

For any Catholic brides that are having just the ceremony - or had just a ceremony can you please tell me how many readings you are doing or did???

I wanted to start picking out some readings so I can decide who I want to read and then start putting the programs together...but I'm not certain on how many readings are done in a ceremony as oppossed to a full mass...I think I need to get to church more

We have two readings and then someone can do prayer of the faithful. When you meet with the priest he should give you book with all of the readings in there so I wouldn't worry about it yet.

Typically it is two readings even without the mass.
Also, You are not a bad catholic..at least you are getting married in a catholic church.

I have no clue how many readings are done in the catholicwedding ceremony...I received the book of readings from Pre-Cana - but it has the full mass format in it - so as I'm filling it out I'm ending up with alot of readings - Thanks again

Did they give you the book 'Together for Life'? I've found it to be very helpful.

ETA: I just saw that you did. The ceremony still has the same readings as the mass. Typically, the big difference is there's no communion.

HI!!!!!!!! it was so nice to see you on sat at stephs shower...anyway im just having the ceremony too and you have 2 readings plus the prayer of the faithful...Hope i helped.....

Hi Catherine - it was great to see you as well Can't wait to see pictures from your big day...Can you beleive that its here already - feels like New Years Eve was yesterday and we were talking about all of the wedding plans

The readings are the same between a full mass and just a ceremony. the only difference is the communion/

We are shocked about the 500.00 donation we have to make. We aren't even having a full mass. It should be half that.

Dont feel bad - my grandfather is a deacon and I wasnt even sure about this at first! Usually it is 2 readings and the prayer of the faithful.
