My engagement party seating question
I don't know if I should do seating cards for my engagement party or open seating? I prefer having the seating cards but is that too formal for me to do in a VFW?

Re: My engagement party seating question
I'm familiar with VFW as my FH's parents are members of one and are very active in it... I think that seating cards would be too formal. On the other hand the E-Party is supposed to set the tone for the wedding. If your wedding is going to be super formal go ahead and have the seating cards.

Re: My engagement party seating question
yes i agree- seating cards are formal- so if thats the kind of theme ur doing then i say go for it otherwise seating themselves will be good also

Re: My engagement party seating question
I think I might end up doing the seating cards. Not necessarily to set the tone of my wedding but I think it might make things a little less hectic than having 130 people scrambling around fighting over seating. What a way that would be to introduce the families

Re: My engagement party seating question
I agree I am doing the same thing for my engagement party.I dont want people to feel awkward. I do not think it is too formal...it is necessary!!! haha I am inviting about 125 also...that would be a mess especially if people dont like other people!

Re: My engagement party seating question
That is a lot of people... i only had about 60 so it wasnt too crazy.. With that many people you may be better off with the seating cards.

Basically everything is going to be all white, white table cloths and white balloon centerpieces on each table with one Mylar balloon in the middle of each centerpiece.
This is the Mylar balloon I'm using:

Re: My engagement party seating question
I am having my engagement party on Sept. 16th at a Firehouse. . .and I think that seating cards is too formal b/c I asked ppl and they told me that an engagement party should be more of a casual affair---I absolutely love the engagement balloons! I was thinking of doing a clear fish bowl w/ fresh flowers? not sure yet! When is your party?
