SWR: Apts. for Rent in Long Island that take cats?? Help!
Hi ladieswell FH and i are not moving in until either just before or after the wedding. BUT...we are beginning the search for an apartment. i'd like to not have to go into a private house with an apt. attached if possible--but have been discovering that most complexes DON'T want to let you have an animal.
are there any affordable complexes that you ladies might live in that takes a small cat? 1 or 2 bedroom that's not more than $1400? (yeah i know i'm reaching!)
i live in suffolk, and would like to stay in western suffolk or eastern nassau if possible. any info would be appreciated!

I THINK Fairfield allows cats, at least they used to, not sure on prices.

MY FH is moving out of a Fairfield in Middle Island, and they let you have pets. Rent is around $1235. He is moving out in November, so there will be a vacancy.
He is extremely clean too, so the apt wouldn't be nasty either.FM if you want more info.
oh, and he has a 2 bedroom for the $1235

I found when looking for an apartment last year that a lot of the places that advertise 'no pets' are fine with most pets, just not dogs. It's worth it to ask.

The Country Club Gardens IN East Islip (Fairfield) allows cats. I lived there for 5 years. When I left in May, my rent was $1400 - and it was a really big 2 bedroom. New tenants get AC's and new appliances and all wood floors. And the Super, Tonin, is awesome. Now if they would only give me my friggin' security back...

this is very true---i technically live in a bldg that doesn't allow pets, but everyone has one and no one says anything. i have two cats and they love to hang out in the hallway-----no one cares. and even if they bldg really doesn't allow pets, it's usually more of a 'no dogs' policy-----cats don't make noise and they really don't need to leave the apt.

I live in a Heatherwood comples in Pt jeff, but they have others, we pay 1300 for a 1 bedroom. Our friends have a 2 bedroom for 1600. They charge an extra 200 security deposit for a cat.Welcome New Vendors
