bathroom issues on wedding day...

so this may sound funny but we're all girls here...

is anyone freaking out about not being able to go to the bathroom on your wedding day? i plan on having a big princess ball gown. but how do i use the bathroom? do i have to take it off if i need to go? but that means missing part of my reception for like 15 minutes!!

married ladies, please tell me going to the bathroom won't be a big deal!!!!

soon to be married ladies, share your thoughts!!!

Yeah. I was worried, but to be honestly, I actually didn't have to go once! Soooo weird!

Re: bathroom issues on wedding day...

I did not have to use the bathroom the whole day!!!

I did decide before we left LI to drive home to NJ that it was in my best interest to do so. My MOH helped me, she just lifted my dress for me up so I could go. It really wasn't as big of a deal as most people make it out to be. We were hysterical laughing the whole time.

But during the day was no issue... I didn't even think about the bathroom the day of.

Just remember to go before you put your dress on.

Re: bathroom issues on wedding day...

I am not married yet, but I have seen this bathroom situation in action and let me tell you it is a big deal!

You are going to need like 2-3 people to help you hold up your ballroom dress and hover it over you as you pee. Its not an easy process. My best advice to you is dont drink anything before your ceremony.

Re: bathroom issues on wedding day...

I wish I could post the pic I have but, when my boss got married we helped her!!! She face the wrong way on the toilet we helped her pick up her dress and she just walked over the bowl and squatted! It was pretty funny and another girl snapped a pic!!! all you saw was dress and our faces hysterical laughing!!

Re: bathroom issues on wedding day...

Ok- I know this sounds wierd but when I had to go use the bathroom I sat the other way. (first wedding- cathedral length gown) I faced the back of the bowl. This way the bulk of my dress was away from the toilet and the water and it was a piece of cake!

Re: bathroom issues on wedding day...

I helped a bride with this...and chances are your BM/MOH are your closest females in your life and they're there when you got dressed too. One girl got one half, the other girl had the other half and we laighed through the whole ordeal!

I didn't use the bathroom the entire day! If I did have to go, I would have had my MOH help me out and hold my dress up for me.

soon2bmrsdunn & CNJ, I could not agree more!
That is why I asked my question about ball gowns. I know in my dress I can hug and kiss my FH and move however I want the whole time.

Re: bathroom issues on wedding day...

I am the queen of bathroom trips. I have to go about 20 times per day, so I was very nervous. It went smoothly. Two BMs came in with me to hold my dress and it went quickly.

My secret is for you to either wear thigh high stockings or no stockings at all. If you want to wear garter stockings, then put your underwear on the outside of your garter. This way you don't have to deal with stockings in the bathroom.

You might think it's weird to put your underwear on the outside of your garter straps, but that means you can take them off before you get back to the hotel room, and keep the garter stockings on. And DH will thank you!

Re: bathroom issues on wedding day...

I was in the BP and the bride had to pee. Luckily, the dress wasn't that heavy so it only took one BM to help her. That way I was free to laugh and snap pics!

(not sure if the pic will work but i put in into an album just in case)
