NWR: Babylon Train Station Parking

Hello all....

Does anyone take the LIRR from Babylon into Manhattan? FH & I are thinking about buying a house in West Islip and we would take the train from Babylon. But the parking there seems very limited. There is parking for town residents and metered parking, but I was wondering about the private parking that's offered. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

What time are you taking it? I live in Babylon town, when FH and I go there we park in the bank right next to the club (Fire? It's always changing names) I think the bank is Washington Mutual.

I'd be taking a train between 7-7:30am.

Re: NWR: Babylon Train Station Parking

I wouldn't count on Washington Mutual everyday, the cars in there are monitored by security and are for employees/customers only.

There are pay by the day and monthly lots very close to the station. There is a big one on Railroad Ave, and another on Locust which is behind the tracks.

ETA: If you take a 7-730 train, you should be able to get a spot in one of those.

I know there are spots you can rent on a monthly basis. My uncle used to rent his I think it was 300 a month.

FH is in west islip and thats the line i take when i come out by him, we're currently looking for a house in west islip as well.

there is an additional parking lot right past the station like a half a block walk where you can park your car i believe.

Re: NWR: Babylon Train Station Parking

Well FH and I go at night so you can get away with it...but if you are going at 7/7:30, you can probably get in, but who knows what can happen during the day...

Re: NWR: Babylon Train Station Parking

You definetely need to make sure you are parking in a lot, they are very strict during the week days there.

Re: NWR: Babylon Train Station Parking

I'm not sure how much has changed, but I used to live in WI and commuted to the city. I have a friend who works at one of the shops on DPA (by Mary Carroll's and Fitness Incentive), and she got me a parking pass from her company. After that expired she gave me a Fitness Incentive sticker, and I used that and never got a ticket. Although I hated having to sneak around the security guards. I'm not sure how much they monitor the cars these days - this was 4 years ago. So if you need a gym membership and a parking spot you can kill two birds with one stone

Otherwise the monthly parking wasn't TOO expensive, from what I remember anyway.

Re: NWR: Babylon Train Station Parking

There is a parking lot next to the train station across from Argyle park... it's like $5 to park.... it fills up but not as early as the main parking lot.

Re: NWR: Babylon Train Station Parking

If im not mistaken...I think the meter parking is 25 cents for 2 hours...i think there is a 12 hour minimum or something.
Oh I found something for you....check this out and then click on Parking Map.
