Wedding Bills due the Day of the wedding
Like Ceremony music, officiant, band - are you waiting to pay them that day in cash/certified check or are you paying them beforehand?Part of me just wants to get them paid off, but part of me doesn't want to send in the money until the service has been provided.
Thoughts?

Re: Wedding Bills due the Day of the wedding
We paid everyone the day of with exception to the hall & flowers! The best man handed out all the envelopes towards the end of the night. Most were certified checks but others were cash

Re: Wedding Bills due the Day of the wedding
We are paying everyone before hand so we don't have to worry about money on the big day (except tips, which DOC will handle).I know some people get worried a vendor won't show up, but I am working with reputable vendors and I am confident that they will show.

Re: Wedding Bills due the Day of the wedding
All were paid in advance except for the photographer and DJ - but both of them were great enough to accept personal checks the day of. Made things a lot easier on us. We just put the checks in their thank you cards with their tips.I think you get charged for cert checks at the bank too, I just didn't need any added expense!!

i still have to pay the DJ the day of and he's not getting his envelope until I am satisfied. I am just going to have my DOC hand out the envelopes so i dont have to worry about it.

Re: Wedding Bills due the Day of the wedding
I am paying for mostly everything before, even the church. (The pastor recomended it).The only think I am paying on the day of the wedding is Limo, DJ and tips. I wish I didn't have to handle any money that day.

Re: Wedding Bills due the Day of the wedding
I feel the same way but I'd rather pay for services after they are rendered. Let someone be responsible for paying them that day instead of you.

Re: Wedding Bills due the Day of the wedding
I thought the same thing - pay them beforehand so as not to deal with it the day of... but part of me thought - what if they don't show?I hired a DOC - who will be handing out my envelopes that day after I approve. This way I am not dealing directly with it...
I understand your hesitation.

Re: Wedding Bills due the Day of the wedding
Paid as much as we could ahead of time. I think we owed the band money on the day of but we had it ready. I think that one of the reasons that our vendors came through with so many extras was because we always paid so early. Our hall especially gave us a ton of extras and I think it's b/c they never had to remind us to make payments. I'm not suggesting that if you pay on the day of your wedding, you are doing anything wrong. I just think that if you make their jobs easier, they will want to give you all they can.
