Asian Theme...

Does anyone have any ideas for Asian theme?

Our invites, programs and wedding menu will have the traditional Chinese wedding symbol ( a.k.a. double happiness symbol). We are also giving away chocolate favors that are molded with one of three Chinese symbols. Each chocolate bar will either have the symbol for happiness, love or peace.

Below is the symbol and one of the favors (ours will have a red bow)

In addition our color scheme is red and ivory because red is the color for celebration in China. My FH is Chinese.

im making brocade cherry blossom table runners for my wedding. i'm selling them afterwards if you are interested.

Check out these stickers I found. I ordered the 'Thank you' stickers, and I am using them to seal the cards that we are giving to our bridal party with their gifts. We also plan to use them to seal our thank you cards after the wedding.

I think I am going to be using orchirds in my flowers. We're not really doing red during the reception bc our caterer doesnt have any linens but my bm dresses are pink so i might do red flowers in their bo-ks. Our invitations were red and gold. We are doing a tea ceremony at the reception. FH is also chinese. You should also check with your fmil about white bc it is associated with death in the chinese culture obviously your wedding dress will be white and it clashes with the whole american white wedding idea but I dont know how cultural they are.

We have the same wedding date!!! And we both have Chinese FH - does that mean we are date twins and hubby twins - FREAKY!!

Tons of wedding ideas you can think of, I'm not sure which I'll narrow it down to:

1. make paper fortune cookie placecards
2. make chinese zodiac table numbers
3. give our a set of classy looking chopsticks with ur name/date engraved on it
4. dragon/phoenix & double happiness sign for ice carving\
5. chinese couple cake topper
6. asian frames with picture of each couple who attend the party inside (have someone take these)
7. and more!

i have photos of all these so if u're interested i can share some with you.

I'm asian btw, and need to incorporate some of these into my weddings so that the wedding is not so american.

I had an Asian themed shower. The favors were fortune cookie soaps that said 'Leslie's Bridal Shower' in the fortune and they were put in clear Chinese food boxes. Maybe you wouldnt use soaps but they could probably make chocolates.

you can hang japanese lanterns at your reception hall. make 1001 paper cranes and hang them maybe in your cocktail hour room, or above your cake area.
