QUESTION on Hair and Make up trials for the day of

I went to Salon Posh today in Babylon Village to see about hair and make up trials and their procedure for the day of. I would have to go to the salon that morning. Mind you my photogrpaher is going to be at my mom's by 9:00 a.m. (which is about 10-15 minutes away from the salon).

My question is wouldn't it be better if I could find someone that could be at my house the day of so I would not have to woory about driving, etc?

The salon said if I decided to book them I would need to get to them by 6:00 -6:30 a.m. and they would have to charge a 25 dollar surcharge for each person that came with me because they don't actually open until 9:00 a.m. on Sat.

What do you girls think? SHould I inquire somewhere else that their person or people could come to my mom's to save time?

I think yes, see if you can get them to come to you. Less running around the day of is better, IMO.

I agree,, Alot of makeup artists WILL come to you the day of, Id rather that then running all around,,

I totally agree...

If you're looking for someone to come to you on the day of, try Jillian from Gorgeous Faces (a LIW vendor). I had my trial with her on Sunday, and she was amazing!

I'm in the same boat - I'd rather go to the salon - and I have to be there at 6:15am. One - all their supplies and any extra will be there and I don't really have the room at my place for 2 hair dressers to come to do my hair and those of my 3 girls. My salon is opening extra early for me, and bringing in 2 other girls to start my BM while the owner works on me and they are keeping to their price they gave me when I first booked w/no extras.

Personally, I would try to find somone to come to the house. I think my BM will be getting hair done elsewhere, but mine will be done at my house. One less thing to worry about.

Check out Mya Cosmetic Artistry. I had the same problem. The salon I was originally going to wanted an arm and 2 legs to come to me the day of!!! I had a trial done with Mya (who does both hair and m-up) and she is awesome and very reasonable. She comes right to you! She is a vendor on here and has ALOT of great reviews!

I'm having two girls come to do our hair & make up at the hotel (where we will be spending the night before and getting ready at).

I am going with the path of least resistance for that day so I would rather not be doing any running around. JMHO

i am BRIDE TO BE myself i got enaged on may 5 2006. i was reading the boards and seen this one about hair and make-up. i am a hairstylist/ make-up artist myself. . i wanted to give you my opinion . i think you can find someone to come to your house. its much easier for you being your wedding is early in the morning. besides if the hairstylist or make-up artist is running behind with you and your wedding party your at home and who ever done can start getting dressed .just make sure your done first because you can always start taking your pictures while there finsihing up. best wishes to you!!

I opted to pay the $25 surcharge. My wedding is in July and my parent's house does not have central air. So to have my 8Bm come to get hair /makeup done at the house is out of the question.

My appt is for 7:30 am and the salon is 10 min away.
