questions about addressing invites.

when a friend is engaged or in a serious relationship. do you address the invite:

Mr. Ben Affleck
Miss Jennifer Garner

or
Miss Jennifer Garner
Mr. Ben Affleck

(using two lines?)

or
Miss Jennifer Garner & Mr. Ben Affleck? ( all on one line?)

I had my list set up with both names on one line, and now I'm second guessing myself. help?

Re: questions about addressing invites.

I put the person I knew first, so if it's my friend who is engaged, I put:

Ms. Jennifer Garner & Mr. Benjamin Affleck, sometimes, it needed to go into two lines like:

Ms. Jennifer Garner &
Mr. Benjamin Affleck

Re: questions about addressing invites.

that's great to know, thank you!!!

I never thought of placing the '&' on the first line and adding the second name to line #2.

I'm too ecited to think straight lately! thanks again!

Re: questions about addressing invites.

You can do all one line.

I found this from a helpful website:

In the case of a single person where you are inviting them to bring a guest, the inside envelope may say 'Mary Jane and Guest' or 'Mary Jane and Escort'. If you know the name of the person's guest, it is nicer to use that, it makes people feel more welcome to see their name in print. Two single persons that reside together should be addressed 'James Jones and Jane Smith' or 'James and Jane', the person with the closest relationship to the sender should appear first. If both persons have an equal relationship to the sender the names should be placed alphabetically.
