Please help my mom find a dress!!! No luck with Plus Sized gowns & she's really sad now.
I did a search for MOB dresses/gowns, but they basically all have been no help. My mom has tried on dozens of dresses & can not find a single dress that she feels comfortable in. Please help me find a place that has classy dresses for plus sized moms. She's between a size 20 or 22. Thanks girls!!

What about Estelle's Dressy Dresses on Route 110 in Farmingdale? I'm pretty sure my aunt bought a size 18 or 20 there once. You could call them up and ask, they have a special section just for mother of the bride.

Queen of Hearts. They specialize in fancy dresses for plus sized women. My mom (size 22) was able to actually try things on that fit, as well as some things that were too big on her (that was quite a joy for her). The store is $$$, but well worth it to make plus sized moms feel like a million bucks (and the sales staff is very nice).Store is on the south shore.

estelles has some nice ones. Even take a look on houseofbrides.com and maybe she will see a designer that she likes and get an idea of something?

My mom ordered a dress in a size 20 from the Caterina Collection from Jordan. She got it at The Bridal Garden in Bethpage. They didnt have the sample in a 20, but they do have plus sized sample dresses to try on.I agree with Queen of Hearts, but they can be very pricey! FYI Queen of Hearts is in Merrick on Merrick Avenue right by Sunrise Hwy.

My mom went there over the weekend, and was shocked that the dress she liked was between $800 and $1000! That's what MY dress cost!! So, she's still looking, too. We feel your pain!

My mom get a very nice dress @ Estelle's last weekend. They had a pretty good selection of sizes 14-22.And- Woo hoo great prices.
She spent half of what she was expecting to!
You should give it a shot, for sure!

My mom went to Totally You and walked out almost in tears. They have the snottiest sales people and when they asked my mom her size, they accused her of lying and basically told her she was fat. I dont reccomend this place at all. Plus they didnt listen to anything she asked and yelled at her more than once. (example, they didnt ask her what her price range was and just pulled a bunch of $1200 dresses!! When she told them she couldnt afford that much, the woman yelled at my mom for not telling her the price range and told my mom that she wasted this woman's time)
I will never step a foot in that place again. They are disgusting people with disgusting attitudes.

I would go to Sugar Plums in Lynebrook, Estelles or Totally You. My mom bought her dress at Omnibus in Babaylon but they have a smaller selection.

My Mom is above those sizes. She went to Coldwater Creek and bought her dress through them. There is a store in the Huntington Mall, but check online as well through their store. That's how my Mom found it. Also try Chadwicks.Com for dresses - they have plus size and both me and Mom and MIL have had good luck with their clothing. Here my Mom's dress:

Sometimes, if you have a dress custom made it works out to be cheaper. Then, she can make the dress 100% comfortable to her and exactly what she wants.I always thought custom made dresses were a lot more than 'ready made' ones, but I've been hearing that they're not!

Queen of Hearts in Merrick on Merrick Ave. My mother has gotten several dresses there for other occasions. Julie is the owner and is super sweet and always smiling. Her seamstress is very good too. My mom says she has a good selection of MOTB as well as other clothes. Good Luck.

I know that RK Bridal in the city has plus sized dresses (good prices), my mom is usually a 16 but the dress that she ordered from macys in manhassett had to be ordeed a few sizes up. She was kina upset, but it worked out in the end.

This store is on Merrick Ave in Merrick. It is right across the street from the shop where I got my gown.
