Italian Brides- Music Question
I just joined this site and yesterday and I already have a question for the Italian Brides!!!!I want a band that will play good Italian music. Any suggestions?
Also, how does it work...once I call them do they send me a sample of how they play?
Last question...I am most likely booking my hall and church this week and I am aiming for June or July 07. Do I have enough time to find and book a good band? People are worrying me that they will be booked.
Thanks so much girls!

Re: Italian Birdes- Music Question
I depends on how much Italian music you want. There are bands that are American Bands that play Italian music and Italian bands that play American Music.Depends on what you had in mind.
My band plays everything, but they are an American band that plays Italian music as well as other ethnicities.
You have some time, but I would consider booking your big vendors soon like Photo and Music.
Good luck with your reception hall!

I think I would like an Italian band that plays a little bit of everything. I am trying to book things as quickly as possible. Feel stressed already!!

I'll be honest with you - if you're really serious about getting a band u need to get moving FAST! I wanted Angelo Venuto's band for my wedding and I called them in December 05' and they were already booked for my date in 2007. These are some other popular Italian bands:Opera 3000 973-722-9264
Carrozza Brothers 845-226-4939
ADA 516-759-4489
Armonia 718-545-8347
The Caleps 718-234-3400
MGM
Strings 718-227-2245

One more suggestion is that some brides get a DJ too to play either the Italian music or American music based on the band and how they play.

Santina is right. I booked MGM and got them by luck bc they had a cancelation. They are amazing! The Caleps are excellent too. They played at my FIL's wedding 30 years ago! They are still going strong. If I couldnt get MGM my second choice would have been Arcadia. They are really great too and have Italian singers available. They are with Paramount Entertainment which is a vendor on this site. Toni (ToniMIke) booked them, she can give you more info.
If you want MGM's number I have it. FM me if you are interested

Re: Italian Brides- Music Question
If you go to Franklyn Wayne Music they have four bands that play just about everything. They do showcases where you can see them live. That's the best way to tell if you like a band is to see them in person. I don't know of too many bands that play only italian music. But Franklin Wayne does a good mix of everything and if you want more italian stuff I'm sure they can do taht for you.

I am using an italian band called ADA Music. They are based in Glen Cove. It's call Amici of America. I was going to use MGM but they are very expensive (between 7-8k).If you need the number to ADA Music, send FM.
Hope that helps

Re: Italian Brides- Music Question
There are so many good bands but as I've said before, if you really want an Italian band that plays American too-get one with that reputation. The band I had is fabulous and plays Italian music but they are an American band first.
How much Italian music are you looking for? Most bands I've heard have a limited repertoire-10 songs or so but do a very good job on them, but Italian bands will have a much bigger selection.
Since it's a specialty and there are a limited number of bands that do just that, you may have to make a decision sooner rather than later.
I would start calling around to some of the ones that fit your needs and see about availabilities.
