My mom's bad experience with a cake place in Babylon!

My mom told me today that she was trying to do something special for my bridal shower. Since she knew I loved mini-wedding cakes as favors/dessert, she was looking for them. Well, she heard that one place in Babylon (FM me for the name... the intials are J.P.) did them for $2.50 each. So, she went there to discuss what she wanted. They increased the cost to $4 for mini, 3 tiered wedding cakes. They even drew a picture of the mini-3 tiered cakes on the contract. They wanted my mom to give $100 deposit, but my mom didn't feel comfortable doing that until she actually saw a sample mini-cake. They did a tasting last week and really didn't like the taste, but they figured the novelty of the look of the mini-wedding cake was more important. She went back today, and she said they made her a cupcake, with what looked like Play-doh wrapped around it! No three tiers. She said she or my dad could have made this! AND... they INCREASED THE PRICE per cake to $10 per person since they accused my mom of requesting a cupcake... not a mini-wedding cake (reminder... they had drawn the 3-tiered picture on the contract already)!!! They got in such an argument with this place since they made three trips to. Obviously, they're not getting the mini-wedding cakes from them. What a RIP OFF!

And my dad was very happy that the last thing he said to the woman was, 'Your cake tastes like sh!t anyway! Go, dad! (my mom was so happy he said that!)

So... I told her it's not worth the aggravation, but if anyone knows a good, reliable, reasonably priced place that does that, please let me know.

Hi -- try Taste of Home Bakery in Bellmore on N Jerusalem....they are delicious and do pretty much whatever you ask.... ask for Monica and tell her Debbie's daughter Jennifer recommended you my mom faux finished their whole store and they're friendly now .... but their cakes are delicious!

Dortoni's in Levittown rocks. Audreys is great as well.
