NWR: Does anyone else feel bad for Nick Lachey???
I am watching the MTV special on him about his new album and break-up with Jessica Simpson and I feel so bad for this guy. Not that I know him personally, but he seems so genuine and sincere and truely heartbroken. And I dont know if anyone ever watched 'Newlyweds' but he seemed like such a great guy and such a great husband especially since Jessica was a bit of an idiot. I dont know what would possess her to divorce him? Like she can do any better? I used to love Jessica Simpson, but I really feel bad for Nick now and kind of think she is such a ***** and let her Dad and the $$$$$ get in the way and change her.

I'm watching it 2nd time around too. He is so real and down to earth. He seems like the guy we have dreamed of wanting to marry (except for FH's of course) since we were little girls.

Re: NWR: Does anyone else feel bad for Nick Lachey???
I was watching the show last nigh and i was thinking the same exact thing. He does seem so hurt and genuine. I felt real bad when he was trying to hold back his tears. He does seem like a great guy and very down to earth. What the heck was wrong with Jessica to let him go? His music seems really good. I am definitely going to buy his album. I love his voice and his songs on this upcoming CD are really going to let us know what happened to him.

Re: NWR: Does anyone else feel bad for Nick Lachey???
I really kind of agree...I think most of America feels her parents were way too involved in their marriage/life. He really did seem like a great guy....and she like a totally spoiled brat.Poor Nick...if I wasn't so close to the wedding....
just kidding.

I agree - we'll probably never really know the truth but he's definitely winning over some hearts right now. i watched the special on saturday with FH and we both felt really bad for him - i've always thought of him as a down to earth kind of guy. it seems like the celebrity thing never really got to his head and thats where i think him and jessica are different. after the special aired there were pics in all the celebrity mags of jessica wearing her wedding band on a necklace...could they reconcile in the future? i actually really hope so - they were by far my favorite celebrity couple of all time.

Re: NWR: Does anyone else feel bad for Nick Lachey???
I do feel bad for Nick. My mom said she read a long time before their break up that it was going to happen... and that Jessica's P.R. team was going to make it look like it was his fault. I really do NOT think Jessica Simpson is an angel... not by a long shot. I hope Nick finds someone DOWN TO EARTH to make him happy. (not that I know him... but whatever.)

Re: NWR: Does anyone else feel bad for Nick Lachey???
I LOVE both Nick and Jessica!!! I watched Newlyweds all the time (I have the DVD's as well). Nick is such a great guy, and it may sound weird, but FH watched that show with me, and it really changed him for the better. He saw the way Nick would treat Jessica (surprise her, love her, and just be an all around great guy), and he just started to slowly change the way he acted a little bit. Not that he needed to (FH was great the way he was - I love him and I never mentioned anything about changing - he just wanted to be a better person for himself and for our relationship), but now he surprises me ever now and then, he takes me out on 'dates' once in awhile, etc. But anyway, I saw the show last night with Nick and it made me want to cry. He is such a great guy and he deserves the best!!! I pray that he finds happiness with another woman again, and I also pray that his album does amazing and hit's the #1 spot!!!
We love you Nick!!!!!

Re: NWR: Does anyone else feel bad for Nick Lachey???
I don't pity Jessica and here's why, she's already sought out to prevent him from getting any of her money which just makes her look GREEDY, I watched her whine over every freakin' detail of her daily life with him, she refused to even pick up her clothes and demanded a maid and Nick was able to pick up after himself (something my FH will never do), she seems really fake and if we are supposed to believe she's half as smart as she wants us to believe, she should've thought about that in season 1!!! And another thing, 'Nick' is a one simple syllable name, but thanks to her, it's 'Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiick' in that whiny tone...when I meet people named Nick, I think of her laying on the couch watching TV in heels whining away about where her next birthday party would be.Don't get me wrong, I have seen all the Nick with another girl shots, too...but we all tend to forget that no one has actually come out to accuse him of cheating (aside from the National Enquirer) meanwhile, in his own interview, Nick confesses that he doesn't know if she cheated, but he wished he did know FOR SURE because maybe it would hurt less.
Their marriage seemed doomed to me from the beginning based on her childish behavior and her father's ever prominent presence in that show. I am just shocked that he didn't seek to end it sooner.
That said, this doesn't give you the right to make yet another heinous solo album...Nick, either get better songs or get a new producer!!!

Alyssa Milano, Kristin from Laguna Beach, Vanessa Manillo...
I don't feel bad for celebs - they're good looking, they're well-off and they really don't lose much time finding someone new. Plus, they aren't my friends or family!

Jessica 'Heartbroken' by Nick's Tell-All

Jessica Simpson is said to be “devastated” by a recent tell-all interview that her ex, Nick Lachey, gave to a magazine about their relationship.
In the published interview Lachey said he still loved Jessica, felt 'blindsided' and 'sucker punched' by her decision to divorce and that she refused to try counseling.
Jessica's reaction? 'She was devastated, heartbroken,' says an insider. 'She didn’t think he would do that.”
Friends gathered at Simpson's house on the day the article came out to console her. And Lachey himself even called to check in. 'He wanted her to hear it from him,' says a Lachey friend. 'He felt bad that she was upset. (But) Nick didn’t apologize, because the things he said (in the article) only demonstrate that he loves her.'
Simpson sees it differently. 'What really upset her was the timing,' says the insider. 'Nick waited until two weeks before for his album to debut (Lachey's CD, What's Left of Me, will be released May 9] to tell a reporter that he loved Jessica. That’s not cool.' Furthermore, the insider adds, 'he keeps saying, 'I'm sorry I couldn’t make her happy,’ but he is not choosing to say why.'
For her part, Simpson chooses to remain tight-lipped. She was scheduled to be interviewed for a Vanity Fair cover story, but that has since been canceled after it became clear that she would have to talk about the divorce. “She will not take the low road,” says the insider.
Instead she is throwing herself into recording her next album and launching a line of hair extensions. 'Financially and businesswise, she’s hotter than she’s ever been,' says the insider.
In fact, money may be a sticking point between the two. Soon after Jessica filed for divorce in December, Nick specified that he reserved the right to ask for spousal support, though the published interview says he denies he will ask for alimony. Another possible sore point, adds the insider: 'The family thinks Nick is attacking everybody but himself.'
But his friends beg to differ. 'Nick took responsibility for the split more than anyone else,' says a friend.
While Jessica's father and manager, Joe, is sometimes mentioned as a force behind the breakup, the friend says, 'Nick doesn't blame Joe. It's no one's fault. He doesn't blame Jessica.'
Still, the friend adds, 'Nick never wanted this marriage to end. He would never want to hurt her.'
**I agree... i'm sorry i do feel bad for him a little, but the only reason he's saying all of this is because his album is coming out. It's all a PR stunt! thats what i think anyway.

OMG I COULD NOT AGREE WITH YOU MORE!!
and i think a lot of people's feelings towards her have changed and i feel SO bad for him. i actually met nick and the rest of 98 degrees twice and he was as nice and down to earth in person as he was on tv... he truly is just a normal guy.
i feel so bad that whenever his song comes on i go out of my way to listen to it for him lol... well, what can you do-- i hope he is able to get over this and move on to have a great life.

Re: NWR: Does anyone else feel bad for Nick Lachey???
i watched Newlyweds religiously...in a time where divorce is no longer taboo they made marriage seem fun and maybe i was naive, but I honestly thought they'd be one of the few hollywood couples that would actually make it. i was so sad to hear that they were splitting. Now, i kinda feel betrayed because i feel like they were just acting! i don't know at what point they stopped being 'real' and weren't acting for TV ratings. FH laughs because everytime I walk by the Newlyweds DVD's at a store, I yell out 'it was a sham!!!!' He gets so embarassed!Too many people were involved in their marriage. I think they'd still be together if they never did the TV show!
They both had equal part in their demise...but I do feel bad for Nick though, he seems so sad in his video....
