Looking for DIY advice for BM gift

In addition to the traditional BM gift, I wanted to make all of my BM's cookie jars (filled with cookies of course). They are all aware of my love for chocolate chip cookies and I thought that would be something fun for them to have in their homes. So... I found cheap jars at Ikea, that are cute and modern looking. I want to decorate them or personalize them in some way. I cannot find any good books on jar decorating or even fun chocolate chip cookie related quotes. Just looking for some thoughts. Thanks!

Re: Looking for DIY advice for BM gift

did you ever see those jars filled with all the ingredients to make your own cookies?? they look so cool... you can see the layers of flour, sugar, brown sugar, choc chips, etc... my mom used to make them as gifts... your post reminded me of them... all you ahve to do is add the eggs i think and mix...

You can always hand paint them!
Michaels has all the supplies.
Nice idea, BTW! I love cookies, too. Too much.

Re: Looking for DIY advice for BM gift

I like the mix idea - except the thought of them having cookies to munch on without any work, seems more exciting (although my mom thinks I'm being crazy for thinking about making sooo many cookies right before the wedding - but have I mentioned how much I love cookies!)

I like the idea of hand painting on the glass - I just cannot decide what to put on them. I thought it would be fun to put a quote, the best I have for now is 'Good Friends Share Their Chocolate Chip Cookies' - but I'm just not sure about it...

My other thought was creating an authentic looking label on the jar that makes reference to the wedding date and the specific BM... I've seen interesting looking antique labels, I would just need to figure out the logistics.

Thank you for the ideas!

Re: Looking for DIY advice for BM gift

I would google something about jelly jarring, and steal some ideas off them!
A LOT of crafty types make and jar their own jam!
Good luck!
