Antigua vs. Jamaica vs. Bahamas etc.

I am trying to choose a Carribean honeymoon destiantion but all the brochures I've seen make everything look the same. Has anyone heard spectaular things about either Antigua, Jamaica, or the Bahamas? Each looks the same to me, and I'm wondering if I should be looking elsewhere like St. John or Bermuda. Thanks!

Antigua vs. Jamaica vs. Bahamas etc.

i went to the carribean on a cruise--barbados was a lot of fun--we did a booze cruise and rented wave runners---dominica was absolutely beautiful--we went to the rain forest and saw waterfalls--loved it---great pictures--my cruise left from puerto rico where there is another rain forest---i forget if it was st. marten or st. thomas--i think it was st. marten that was really run down (i went 2 yrs. ago) we toured the island-not so good-wish i selected something else to do--st. thomas has beautiful beaches ( i may have mixed these up) and martinique was ok--didn't do too much there---the snorkeling is great in the carribean--i hope this helped--i have heard antigua is pretty and my friend is going on a cruise to jamaica this summer-when do you plan on going? are you taking a cruise or staying in one location?

Carribean

I have been to both Turks and Caicos (sp?) and Bermuda and they are both great honeymoon spots. Both have such beautiful beaches. I know people who honeymooned at both and loved it. they aren't too crowded and very romantic. I heard the Sandals in Antigua and Jamaica are both great for a honeymoon. My friends who went to Antigua said you can't really leave the resort though. We were considering St. Lucia. Heard that and Aruba are great honeymoon spots. At of the three you mentioned Bahamas would be my third choice (too ordinary for me) but I hear Atlantis is a nice resort for a honeymoon. Hope this didn't make you more confused. There are just lots of great places in the Caribbean so I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Carribean

My sister honeymooned in Curacao and absolutely loved it. It wasn't too croweded, and she liked that when you were on the beach that weren't people constanly approaching you to sell you things. I know that is prevalent on some of the other islands. I've been to Turks and Caicos, and it was beautiful, and also to Grand Cayman. Grand Cayman had some cool things, but I didn't think the island had enough to offer. If you would be interested in going to Mexico, Playa del Carmen is beautiful!! And you get a lot of bang for your buck. It's not spring breaky like Cancun either. Good luck with your choice, it's a hard one to make!!!

Antigua vs. Jamaica vs. Bahamas etc.

I was at Antigua last August. It was my least favorite island to visit. We stayed at Sandals and had alot of problems there with the resort. I vacationed at Aruba and loved it. I heard Bermuda is beautiful. Good luck!!!

Re: Antigua vs. Jamaica vs. Bahamas etc.

I've been on vacation to Jamaica twice, once in Negril and once in Ocho Rios. As a person that has visited many different islands, there is no place that has the same 'kick' as Jamaica. Once you go, you know....the prices aren't bad either. However, the Sandals out there looks old and dated. I was so happy that I didn't stay at that resort. The best resort is the Riu...check it out! Good Luck!
