Embossing101 please!

who here knows how to DIY embossing onto paper? i have the powder and ink. i tried to DIMyself but it never seems to work in my favor. what am i doing wrong? am i using the wrong heat source (hair dryer)?

a hair dryer is not hot enough to heat the embossing powder up enought to melt it. You need an heat gun...like this

ah! i was hoping i would be able to get away with using my hair dryer to cut the cost down a tad. thanks for letting me know. this certainly helps!

You can use a hair dryer (worked for me) but you have to make sure the hot setting in on. It really depends on your hair dryer heat output.

hahah! i tried the blow dryer. believe me. it just blew the stuff away. unless i'm doing it wrong.. anyway, i got the actual heating tool. it does work very well. i just have to learn how to perfect it. thanks everyone for your input!

Most of the embossing powder will blow away. the embossing tool should only be about $20. I can't remember but I don't think chalk inks work very well.

You need stamp- dump powder, remove excess powder back into jar, and wave heat tool a few inches where you will see some excess powder blow away. I just wave the tool back and forth until you see the image begin to raise.

I need help too every time i use that heat gun it blows the powder all over the place
