Proofs - none in black and white?

Our proofs are all in color. When we met with the photographer before booking them they did say something about converting color pics into black and white but I guess I didn't realize all proofs would be in color. Probably my own fault but I was wondering if this happened to anyone else. I love the proofs and can request them in B&W for the albumn and enlargements but it seems like everyone else has proofs in black and white and we don't!

Re: Proofs - none in black and white?

Do you get the proofs or negatives on a disc to keep? If so, you can convert them with many editing programs on your computer. ASK. Also, ask them to send them in B&W before you choose/finalize your album....a shot could look awful in B&W and after you get the album, it would be too late.

Re: Proofs - none in black and white?

That is a good idea to ask for a CD. I picked out the albumn pics and they showed me the B&W ones to see if I approved before sending the albumn off to be bound so I guess I cant complain. I was just wondering if it was normal to have only color proofs.

Hi resolution CDs can be very costly. Make sure if you are getting one that you ask the price ahead of time.
