Ladies on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo

I have a question I just started taking the pill. I started on Monday March 6th like the doctor told me too. Now I am on my secong day of the third week of pills and I am having cramps and a little bledding. I thought I would get my period on the 4th week ( Green Pills) I am so confused. I tried calling my dr but I am waiting for a call back. Can someone help??

If you took your pills late or missed a day, you could get spotting/early period, especially during the first couple months. I started up again last month and during the third week I took my pill 5 hours late and the next day my period started. UGH

Usually by the third month you will be like clockwork. I would get my period on the Tuesday after the last pill between 11AM and noon every month. It was fabulous

sometimes when you first start the pill your body has to adjust, some spotting could happen

I was like a half a hour late taking the pill today, could that have caused my period?? Should I continue taking the pills in order????

Maybe your body is still adjusting to it.

When I started that pill - everything was on track.

Now that I'm going on about 2 years, every so often I either get it early, or get it late or some other symptom.

This happened to me and it subsided after the first month....I am getting really bad cramps now though...I may have to change AGAIN

Yeah make sure you finish the pack - or it could affect the effectiveness of the pills. Your body probably just hasn't gotten used to the pills yet, thus the spotting.

1/2 hour is not going to make a difference. Your body is getting used to the pill and it is a major change on the body.

That pill might also not be the right one for you. Sometimes you have to experiment until you find the one that best suits your body.

I have been on the pill for 10+ years. Since then, I have tried Ortho Tri Cyclen, among others because my doctor said there was so many new things on the market. So I did and was having the same problems, cramping, spotting, etc.. I found that the one I started with gave me the least problems, so I stuck to whatever works.

Don't get nervous

Be careful with taking it everyday at the same time and if you are late or miss or something you could get pregnant.

This is completely normal, especially for the first 3 months. Your body is trying to get used to the pill. When I was taking this particular pill I used to get my period on the last day of green into the first 3 days of the new pack. My period is a mess since I went off, but I had no choice b/c the pill in general makes me a little psycho, lol, and it seriously messes with my sex drive. But that's another topic.

Don't worry, it is absolutely normal. When I started it the same thing happened but now I'm like clockwork every 4 weeks. Don't you worry!

I am on Tri Cyclen, I have very normal periods. My Doctor said I should try tri-cyclen lo, for no apparent reason. I hated it. I spotted ALL the time. I told my doc to switch me back. If it ain't broke why fix it?
