QUESTION FOR ALL OF YOU???

SO I UNFORTUNATELY WAITED TO THE LAST MINUTE TO TO INVITE PEOPLE TO WORK FOR THE WEDDING, SENT THEM OUT TO 4 PEOPLE 1 WEEK BEFORE RESPONSE CARD WAS DUE, DO YOU THINK THEY ALL THINK THEY ARE B LISTERS? I DID NOT MEAN TO DO THAT, BUT SINCE I SENT OUT THE INVITATIONS THE OWNER OFMY COMPANY AND HIS WIFE HAVE BEEN ACTING VERY STRANGE TOWARDS ME, WHAT SHOULD I DO? PLEASE HELP, DO I NEED TO JUSTIFY MYSELF TO THEM?

Leave bad enough alone. I make it a policy to not justify myself. It only makes things worse. Everything blows over, if it's superficial.

when is your response date? a week from now?

that is kind of early. i wouldnt worry at all.

i don't understand? this doesn't quite make sense. if you sent it out, 1 wk before the response date--wouldn't that mean you sent them out last week and the response date is this week? you're not getting married till june--did you make your response date for the last week in March???? that's a BIT early isn't it?

i think you need to clarify your issue so we understand better.

Since your wedding is in May you could tell them that the reponse date printed on the invitations is incorrect and give them an extra week or 2 to respond.

ahhhhh...yes that makes sense now.

will they realize they are B-listers? Most likely--Yes. does it really matter? NO. you don't have to apologize or justify yourself or anything---just let it be and hope they come! if they actually have the NERVE to come up to you ask if they were b-listers, just say that things that hectic and you forgot to invite co-workers since you see them everyday--and didn't think of the importance of sending an actual invite until the last minute. that excuse can fly quite well.

IF someone had the NERVE to ask if they were 'B List', maybe you could just say you had to wait to see if those pesky relatives from OOT would say no so you could invite the friends you really want to have there? I think that is a reality for many of us!

I don't know if anyone puts too much weight on this. They're invited? Great. Will they come? Whow knows. No needs for explanation or anyting. Anyone that's ever involved in planning a wedding knows how this goes. My guess is that they're greatful to be invited !!!!!!!!

you shouldn't have to justify yourself at all, they were invited and if they feel that they were 'B list' then that is their problem

my mom put a personal note in each invitation saying

'due to circumstances that were beyond our control, we were unable to send this invitation earlier. We apologize and hope you will be able to share in this special day.'
