Interesting favor.....

Was anyone at the vendor showcase at Flowerfield yesterday? I was. And I spoke with the entertainment company that has EJ the DJ.

Anyway, they have an interesting favor, where they take a pic of me and FH on the wedding day, then they take pics of the guests and at the end of the reception, everyone takes home a photo frame with a 5x7 pic of themselves with an inset pic of the bride and groom.

my question is...Do you think guests will like this? They're dressed up too, and would prob. like to have a nice pic of themselves.
But, would it take too much time out of the reception? We're having about 150-160 people and not everyone will want their pic taken, so how much time would it take? I wonder how much space they would need, too?

Just wanted to get someone else's opinion.

i think its ok......but so many bar/bat mitzvas had them when i was growing up that i can only think of that...

It really depends on the quality of the pictures. Did you see a sample?

that's a neat idea, i am sending a pic to each of the people in thier thank you cards. i am having a friend of hte family take pics when they sign the guest book (i am doing a photo guest book) and i will send them a duplicate of the pic

I did see the favor sample and it was nice. It was about 5x7 size in a plastic frame.

I'm so back and forth on this, I've got to get more info from the DJ.

did you see what the pictures would look like? Quality? is it taken with a digi cam?

My MIL went to a wedding where they did this. She loved it so much that she brought home more than one. I think she probably spent half the night taking pics! So, with that being said, it may take away from your reception if guests get into doing this.

I don't know if they use a digi cam....I assume its all digital, because how could they develop film that fast!

My concerns are: 1. that it will be in the way at the hall, (its a historic mansion, and the space works, but I'm not sure about throwing something else into the mix), 2. it will take people away from the reception or cocktail hour, 3. that they will get in the way of my photographer (although, I really don't think it'll be an issue).

I'm going to put in a call to the BM and to my photographer and see what they have to say about it.

in theory it is a great idea but what if you miss someone? I think that relying on the fact that you are going to get everyone to get a picture in order to have a favor might be a little stressful.
Most of the photographers who do that use digital and have those printers you just plug your memory card into.

I think your thought is in the right place. Where it might be really nice for couples to recieve that type of favor, I don't think people who are single are going to want a pic of themselves at a wedding. Most people don't have a pic of just themselves hanging around their apt/house. JMHO.
