You ladies are going to think I have a piece of my brain missing (apparently the Jewish piece) because I know I asked this question several times, but take pity on me - the wedding plans are nothing compared to my work and school obligations right now, and everything is blending into one mushy blob...

How far before the wedding do I order my ketubah? I want to get it from Art Ketuba...

Some stores will have Ketubahs ready for you to take the same day as long as you know what type of text you want and need. If you choose to have the parts that are blank filled in with Hebrew calligraphy (names, dates, locations etc.) then you may have to allow for an extra month or so AFTER you submit the ketubah. We got ours at Zion Lion and once we gave it in for calligraphy, it took one month for us to get it back. I am not sure how Art Ketubah does it.

Thanks Leslie - it's just that my dad lent us money for some extra wedding things and we had to use it for electric and car insurance, and other bills, and now we are back to square one with scraping money for the wedding stuff - we are trying to do it as late as possible so we can save money - but I really wanted this beutiful ketuba - maybe I'll post a specific art ketuba posting?

i dont know how art ketubah works, but we ordered ours from ketubah.com and it takes 6-8 weeks if u're getting it personalized (they calligraphy your info for u).
if u're going to have your rabbi or cantor 'fill in the blanks' then it takes less time to come in.

when u order it, there is a form that the rabbi or cantor (or u-- if you know the correct hebrew information) fills out and sends to the company if u are having their artist write in your info for u.

when u meet with your rabbi or cantor for premarital meetings he/she should gather this info from u to speed up the process....

if u are having your rabbi or cantor fill in the info for u, then they need to have your info anyway so they can write it in the day of the wedding. if u are opting for your rabbi or cantor to write your info for u, make sure they u give them a copy of your text ahead of time.

Check out mpartworks.com. They may have the ketubah that you want. They are very quick. My preview was ready a few days after ordering. I am the one that's been dragging my feet, therefore I haven't received it yet.

The Rabbi will help you with the proper spellingof your Hebrew names as well as those of your FH and your parents and his parents if it applies.
