New Job...

Hi Girls.. I posted this on BHB as well but I need some assistance..
I went on a job interview yesterday and I know they are going to offer me the job (one of my mother's clients is a head honcho in the office and called to tell my mom everything after it was all over)..
Now.. I know there are questions I want to ask them.. Eg.. What is the Dress Code, and when do the benefits begin and with what company (I asked yesterday but I want more claification).. I know there are more things I should ask about, but I just can't think of them.. Can you girls help me with things I should ask.. I know I get 2 weeks vacation and 6 personal/sick day and 1 floating holiday.. see, I work in banking now and get off all the federal holidays.. I don't know if it's the same with this company.. OK.. you get the idea.. Any help would be MUCH appreciated!! Thanks, Dayna

Re: New Job...

FIND OUT WHAT YOUR MEDICAL IS AND HOW MUCH YOU HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. HOW MUCH IS THE CO-PAYMENT, AND FOR DRUG PRESCRIPTIONS. ALSO FIND OUT WHEN THOSE BENEFITS START. FIND OUT IF THEY HAVE AN IRA OR 401K PLAN, AND WHEN DOES IT START FOR YOU (SOME PLACES YOU HAVE TO WORK A YEAR). THERE'S MORE, BUT THESE ARE SOME OF THE BIGGIES.

what's good is that it's maybe a mile from my new apartment.. it's a pretty stressful job but it's my 'in' for Human Resources which is what I want to get into.. I would be working with Pensions, 401k, annuities, etc for unions in the NY area.. I would be making sure the accounts are properly funded and reconciling the accounts.. but there's so much room for growth and that's what I don't have now.. and more money.. not a lot more, but enough for me to make the move!!

Re: New Job...

I DON'T EITHER, BUT A LOT OF COMPANIES DO TAKE 'X' AMOUNT FROM YOUR PAYCHECK EVERY WEEK. MY FH PAYS OUT OF POCKET.

NO, THEY GIVE BENEFITS. WHEN YOU PAY OUT OF POCKET YOU HELP PAY FOR YOUR BENEFITS ALONG WITH YOU'RE EMPLOYER.
EX. BENEFITS $500 A MONTH
EMPLOYEE PAYS $150 A MONTH AND EMPLOYER PAYS THE REST.

That's the thing.. They don't pay 100% insurance, and if that's the case, they have to match my salary to what I am making now for it to be worth it to me..

Re: New Job...

I am such an @SS.. I pay out of pocket for my insurance now.. so as long as it's not an obscene amount, I have no problem with paying out of pocket again
