Please just let me VENT!

I am sick and tired of people telling me and my FH that we are too young, too immature, etc to be getting married. We understand it's not going to be easy all the time. We understand it's a lot of work and we're willing to put forth the effort.

I'm sick of people telling me all the reasons marriages fail. Tell me the reasons they last, so I can use that information.

Please, we've been mature enough to make this decision. If it doesn't work, we have to deal with the consequences, not you or your mom or your aunt Sue. So, please, just be supportive.

I'm so tired of all the negativity of people on this board and in our families. Do you really think we're going to postpone the wedding with it 45 days away? We've waited 5 months, no way are we waiting anymore. I'm so ready to be his wife, I can just taste it. I'm so ready to wake up beside him each morning and make him breakfast and be the mother of his children one day.

Please support us in this decision. If it doesn't work, you can be the first one to say, 'I told you so.'

hey girl, you do what feels right in your heart. who cares what anyone else says.
people probably say stuff to you because they care about you and don't want you to get hurt, so dont take it too much to heart. i am sure they are still very happy for you and will be there with smiles and hugs on your wedding day.

I know how your feeling. when we first announced wedding FIL's were very negative. It really hurt my feelings a lot. Stay strong and do what you believe! Who is anyone else to say whats right for you. Good luck.!!

I totally hear ya on the whole negative feedback thing.
Whenw e first got engaged,a ll the unhappiliy married people around us were so free with the negative advice ('Don't do it' was a copmmon phrase heard).
Misery loves company, Ignore them.

Coming from an 'old' married lady....I think a successful marriage is one where we can talk openly and laugh A LOT. If you really are committed, your marriage can last through the rough times...because there are going to be some...just remember the vows you took and that things do always get better.

I know you pain...My FI and get the same thing all the time...Even though we are not that young...by the time we get married I will be 24 and he will be 26! We have been together for almost 6 years...So we try to explain that the only thing that will change is my last name...
We know its something we will have to work hard at everyday...but as long as you are willing to do that, then no one has to the right to say anything!
and the number one reason for divorce in this country is MONEY not age...

Oh I hear ya... my FMIL keeps telling me I'm making a mistake marrying her son and I should wait another couple of years, even though we have been living together for 2+ years and have 2 children together. Go figure!

But I agree with you, I am not putting it off another second either!

ok, calm down here. i don't recall anyone on here telling you not to get married. you are obviously frustrated with wedding planning and you are so not alone on that. we are vary in out ages here and not one of us has it easy.

do what is best for you, and don't listen to the naysayers
