horrible day
so i was thinking of renting a dress.. i found a place in brooklynn that does this so today i went.. big mistake -- big waste of time -- they didnt really have anything in my size so she said if i saw something in the book she could order it for me but it would take 6 months to come.. when it came in wether or not i liked it i would be stuck with it.. b/c the wedding would be in 6 months. .the thing is that ment i would never be able to see the dress .. she didnt even have a sample in a smaller size...then we went to some other place and the dress are just to much money i cant afford them...
im very drepressed and upset and not having a good day at all

Re: horrible day
Some BM dresses are so beautiful and could be worn as a wedding dress, you would just have to order it in white or ivory...just an idea!

Re: horrible day
I've seen some very pretty wedding gowns at thrift stores too... Or maybe you can borrow one from a friend or family member...I agree with the suggestion of getting a BM dress in white. It would save you a lot of $$.

Re: horrible day
You should try J.Crew or Jessica McClintock ... they have some really nice dresses that are not too expensive. There is actually a Jessica McClintock store at Roosevelt Field.

Re: horrible day
I'm sure you will find a perfect one! My dress was only a little bit more expensive than a bridesmaids dress since I didn't want to spend a lot and I also wanted an informal dress. Have you tried simple white bridesmaid dresses?

I was thinking e-bay too. You could get the dress in a week or two and then just pay for alterations. Another option is checking out bridesmaid dresses in white or ivory. There are some really stunning ones for a fraction of the cost of one labeled wedding dress. Good luck!! I'm sure you will find something you love in your price range.

You can also check www.gowns.com It is located in Baldwin. It's not online only. I got my dress there. They are off the rack so it's much cheaper. You can get a dress for $250-$400.00FM if you need more info.

Re: horrible day
Try Nicole Miller wedding dresses.....they are gorgeous and under $1,000 as far as I know. Same with BCBG - $500 or so.
