Cancer Support Groups

Hello, does anyone know of any cancer support groups for family members of cancer patients in the western suffolk area? My mother is getting sicker by the minute and although I have held strong this long, I feel it would benefit myself and especially my sister (who is havnig the REBEL effect through all of this...she's 18) if we found a support group. I just dont even know where to start...please help.

Re: Cancer Support Groups

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother.
A friend of mine found a support group through
Cancer Care after his mother passed away.
They offer groups for many different situations.

ETA--they have on-line ones & can also point you to ones in different areas not sponsered by them.

Yes - cancer care is where you would want to look - I also have a great therapist I can recommend to you, but she doesn't take insurance, but FM me if you are interested - she works with cancer patients and knows a lot of great support groups. My stepsister died of cancer 5 years ago...

Re: Cancer Support Groups

Also try contacting the american cancer society, I'm sure they would have a listing.

I was going to suggest cancer care... My family used them when my stepsister was dying of cancer...

I am just seeing this is an old thread though... good luck to you...
