Engagement Ring Re-sizing questions

My ring is a bit big. I currently have one of the rubber cuffs on it to keep it from slipping.

I hestitate to get it resized because what happens if I ever gain weight, can it be made bigger again?

How much does it cost to resize normally? Its a very thin, platinum band.

Re: Engagement Ring Re-sizing questions

I guess it depends how big it is on you. My jeweler told me to wait through the summer & see when your hands swells b/c you don't want it too tight.

I would think your jeweler could do it for no charge.

Re: Engagement Ring Re-sizing questions

I'd wait through the summer. My ring fit perfectly in the summer and is big in the winter.

Re: Engagement Ring Re-sizing questions

I was afraid of the same thing. My ring was a little big where it kept spinning around all of the time and almost falling off. Instead of getting it sized I had shots put in it. They two little balls that they put on the inside of the ring. They make it so they are either platnum or white gold. I was hesitant at first, but you can't see them at all and my ring stopped spinning. That way in a couple of years you can get them taken out (filed out) if your fingers get bigger.

Re: Engagement Ring Re-sizing questions

My fiance got my ring off of blue nile too and it was too big on me as well..i know if its been less than 45 days since he bought it, you can send it back and have them resize it (thats what we wound up doing). They also polish the whole thing too so it looks just like new..if you have any questions, you can always call them up. I tried going to local jewelers and they said to go back to whoever I bought it from. They didn't want to be responsible for making the prongs loose or breaking anything...
