Thank Yous for Gifts

I've had a registry since Dec. for our engagement party. Two weeks ago I sent out the save the dates with our website on it. On my website it has a link to the registries. Well, today we recieved a very nice gift from a friend off of the registry. Do I send her a thank you card right away or can I wait until after the wedding when we get the thank you card pictures from the photograper? I would prefer to wait, but I dont want to offend her.

I would send a thank you.

I sent ty's as I got gifts. If the person sent a gift prior to the wedding and still attended the wedding, I sent them another ty after the wedding thanking them for coming and thanking them again for their gift.

I think that depends on if the gift was a wedding gift or if it was an engagement gift. If it was an engagement gift, I would definitely send a thank you now, but if it was a wedding gift (a very early wedding gift) then I would wait until after the wedding.

I think thats the problem. I dont know if it is an engagement gift or a wedding gift. This very nice person wasnt invited to the engagement party, so it could be an engagement gift. I think I will send her a thank you just so she knows I got the gift and that I really appreciate it and then send her another one after the wedding.

I would definitely send a thank you card now. It's a while till your wedding and she might start to wonder if you even got the gift.
