Ocean City, Maryland or WildWood, New Jersey

Hi Girls, I am trying to find a place to have my bachlorette party and I really want a lot of bars along with the beach. Trying to keep it somewhat affordable for everyone also. Someone suggested Ocean City or WildWood, but everything I see looks pretty family fun there. Anyone ever been to either and are there good bars?

Any other suggestions? I appreciate any advice.

Thanks!
Michelle

Re: Ocean City, Maryland or WildWood, New Jersey

Ocean city is great! I just went for the first time last summer. It is clean and has alot to do! The beach is also great! Big machines run across the sand everynight, to smooth it down.
I stayed at the Sand Dunes hotel, I defienetly recommend it, it was one of the nicest ones on the strip. The only bad part, was it was at the end of one side of the board walk. They do have a little trolly that runs up and down the board walk all night. I think it cost $3.

I find WildWood to be very dirty and no were near as nice as OC. That is JMO. If you like it there, then go for it.

What about Mohegan Sun! I haven't been, but I have heard good things about it.

AC is always a good choice!

Re: Ocean City, Maryland or WildWood, New Jersey

I've been to both many times..

Wildwood is definitely not very bachelorette partyish & that early in the year is likely to be dead. There's not too many bars & they cater to a very young crowd...very family-oriented all around & more Old school.....think of family vacations in the late 70's/early 80's.

OC is GREAT! I've been 4x & everytime have had a wonderful time. Yes there are some families, but that is b/c it is clean, the hotels aren't too expensive & there is a lot to do. They have a nice boardwalk, w/ bars lining it & restaurants, amusement parks, and a really nice beach. If you decide on it, do a search for ocean city, there's a wonderful website (I'm heading off to work or I'd look it up for you). It lists all the hotels, & gives reviews.

I'd stay closer in the 8 blocks to 25 block...most of the bars are in that area.

Have fun!

Re: Ocean City, Maryland or WildWood, New Jersey

I actually went to Ocean City, Maryland with my friends last Summer. It was actually recommended by a co-worker of mine. There's this place called seacrets. It was a lot of fun and we actually met a lot of people that were there for their bachelor and bachelorette party. Here's the link to the website.....Have fuN!!!

Re: Ocean City, Maryland or WildWood, New Jersey

I'd pick Ocean City of the two choices you listed. Seacrets is a lot of fun.

There are also a lot of other towns in between that you can go to!

Re: Ocean City, Maryland or WildWood, New Jersey

Of the two I'd pick Ocean City... Seacrets is great, like the other girls mentioned. BUT = if you are going down to that area, I'd recommend Dewey Beach in DE instead. VERY FUN!

Re: Ocean City, Maryland or WildWood, New Jersey

Love ocean city! I don't remember the name of the bar/restaurant, but it is on the boardwalk (or sort of under it) and it has the BEST margaritas and seafood. Mmmmmmmmmm! Also just a very fun place to party overall.

Re: Ocean City, Maryland or WildWood, New Jersey

As a fam we've vacationed on the Jersey shore for over 20 years...I wouldn't think Wildwood would be too fun, it's more carnival like IMO. Definitely check out any town along the shore, they're so much fun! I've been to Ocean CIty, MD once, but I was a lot younger, so I can't seem to remember the night life

Both are great... Wildwood is a bit cheaper and a closer drive.

Re: Ocean City, Maryland or WildWood, New Jersey

Girls this is really helpful! I already started passing along the info to my girls...I think we are going to choose Ocean City...sounds like we can hit a lot of bars and still get to enjoy the beach. Now I have to start searching hotels! lol...thank you so much!

Re: Ocean City, Maryland or WildWood, New Jersey

OC is lots of fun. I've been there a few times. I don't know the names of any bars, but there are plenty and they get pretty crazy in the summer.
