'No quite WR': Best places for eyebrow shaping
After years of doing my own shaping 'massacre', it's time to find a place that do a 'professional' job.So 2 questions:
- Is waxing best for shaping?
- What is the best place on LI? Let's say Melville, Farmingdale, Plainview, Bethpage, Hicksville, Syosset.
TIA

Re: 'No quite WR': Best places for eyebrow shaping
Threading is the best, and there are sooo many great places, there is a chain called rani...they just opened another location right on old country road across from the source mall. Also i love Poojah. Its on gardiners ave right off of hempsted turnpike in levittown. Its where the old kmart was. Poojah is the owner and its 4 dollars and the compliments i get when i go to her are unbeleivable. How something so cheap ($4) can make u feel so good is a great feeling!!!

Def threading... I usually have it done during my lunch break in the city, so I'm not sure about places on LI. I would like to know this as well.

Sorry, I'm uneducated, what is threading? I've heard of it. Does it hurt? Lol, is it expensive?

Re: 'No quite WR': Best places for eyebrow shaping
There is a place in Huntington Station called Femina on 801 East Jericho Turnpike. Also they are opening one in Port Jefferson in a few weeks by the same owner as above. You can call them for the other locations 631-385-0900. I know they have one in Hicksville as well.
Then there is another one in Hicksville called Ariana (not sure of the spelling) it's on 106.
There is also one in Elmont off of Hillside Ave.

Re: 'No quite WR': Best places for eyebrow shaping
It's a hard thing to explain because even after having it done for the last 5 years I still do not get how it works. They take a piece of thread and hold one end in their mouth and the other end takes your hair off. It hurts less then waxing and take about 3 minutes. It usually costs 4-5 dollars and they shape it perfect. Totally worth doing.

There are few places on Hillside Avenue around Floral Park, by border of queens/LI area.If you're ever in the area, look for: Mehak (by 260th street on hillside) or Shobbah's.
ETA: Both those places do threading.(I prefer threading over waxing, you get the perfect shape you're looking for).

They hold it in their mouth? That doesn't sound very sanitary.

Re: 'No quite WR': Best places for eyebrow shaping
I was always interested in trying it, b/c i heard it lasts longer than waxing? How long till the next time you have to get it done? and do you have to grow in your hair to a certain length for it to be done?
I've been waxing mine for years and usually have to have it done every week-week and a half

Well they hold one end of the thread in their mouth and they pull the thread back and forth by moving their head and fingers
So the part thats in the mouth, doesn't touch your skin.

Threading - I'd say you should do it every 2 weeks if you want to keep it clean all the time. My hair grows really slow, so I end up doing it once a month.

Re: 'No quite WR': Best places for eyebrow shaping
Yes the part in their mouth never touches you. You seriously get the best shaped eyebrows ever.It will last you the same amount of time waxing does. Everyone is different but it's the same as waxing.
My hair grows quick and I have to tweeze in between but the shape is what makes it.
Your hair does not need to be as long as waxing either.
