Re: NWR-please forgive me for the NWR-For those who have gone to China

My colleagues in Asia tell me that others have asked for designer sunglasses, bags..etc..

I guess there's some sort of black market there?

They may even be knock offs of designer stuff but heck I can get that stuff here.

Thanks for your answers.

Re: NWR-please forgive me for the NWR-For those who have gone to China

China is the counterfeit capital of the world! So basically anything designer would probably be a knock off. I'd go for a piece of jade. You'll have it forever.

Re: NWR-please forgive me for the NWR-For those who have gone to China

Ive been to China - the only thing I bought were some silk pajamas. Theres not much to shop for over there. If your boss is going to stop at Hong Kong though, you can get nice clothes, watches, bags, etc..more modernized stuff.

Re: NWR-please forgive me for the NWR-For those who have gone to China

My fiance goes to China as well, to the Canton trade shows---
There's nothing really there to buy, though he did get a watch (real) at a better price than the US. Certain things are less expensive, but you need to know exactly what you want, and be able to compare things.
Also, there are a lot of designer bags, especially last season's stuff. They are all real, and usually less expensive. Again, you must know what you want and what to look for. Sometime's they rip you off over there.

Ok, good info. If I can get a real bag even last years-that would be ok.

I agree. I went to Okinawa about three years ago, and I just had to have one. Just a keepsake to have
