My mom's putting my cat to sleep tomorrow
My cat's name is Noonie, she is 15 years old and she is so so precious. She is very shy, well behaved, and loves to be petted. She lives with my mom who is moving to a community where she cannot have cats. I love this cat so much but I can't take her with me either. Mom wants to put her to sleep with the reasoning that no one will want an old cat and that the ASPCA will put her to sleep eventually. It's so upsetting because she wants to put her down tomorrow and I don't even have time to say goodbye because she lives upstate. Does anyone have any recommendations on how I can find her a good home?

Re: My mom's putting my cat to sleep tomorrow
Have you tried looking into no kill animal shelters? There's the Little Shelter in Huntington. I did a quick internet search and found this website that lists other no kill shelters and resuce organizations in NY (some of them are upstate) - and I would imagine that there are more out there. I hope your mom will wait into you've investigated different options for Noonie. I could never put an animal to sleep just b/c it was old. Best of luck to you and Noonie - I hope she finds a home soon!

Little Shelter will take any cat who needs a home and they are building a new facility somewhere upstate because they have so many. Good Luck!
