Ladies....

I have noticed some harsh words on a few posts latelly.

Please let try to stay polite and not insult each other.

We all have different personalities and opinions but this is the place to take it personally.

We are not going to like everybody BUT the HS attitude is over. We are alll getting married so let's act like mature individuals.

I think that is bs, let's agree to disagree on that. I think people FM becasue they know if they say that on a public forum, they will get flamed....like they say 'if you can't stand the heat...........'

I do not hold back and I do not 'hide' behind FM....jmo

In all do respect I agree, but stephanief was attacked on FM (very vulgar) and then that person blocked her so she couldn't respond via FM.

Its amazing how some people preach that everyone is entitled to an opinion, and yet when you state your opinion you get flamed...I mean I know certain people have a very strong stand on certain issues but jeesh take it easy....

More than anything I can't stand high school drama. But let's face it, we are a bunch of 'women' who sometimes get catty and aren't always going to agree. We all have our own opinions and views. No we should never'call people out, whether by thread or FM but I think it is a natural defense when someone feels they are being attacked. Everyone has the right to state their opinion, but I don't think anyone should have their opinion held against them.

I hate that FM is used to insult and be rude to people

as a victim of this- I have to say it was such a hurtful feeling to have an ugly FM written to be

just let it go- we are all adults- if you don't want to say it in public- then maybe you don't need to say it

This is a wedding chatroom afterall. Personally I am not here to make myself some enemies. I like to hear about past brides experience, bride to be experience, etc. I find it extremelly helpful.

Instead of just removing the post maybe the should block the nasty people for the web site entirely. Why should they spoil it for those of us that are here to get advice, ideas, and make friends.

it's just that some people are more vocal about their opinions and they express them and feelings get hurt blah blah blah. I read and see plenty on these boards that are not my style/ taste/ etc, in that case, i don't say anything.... but i guess some people are not as restrained as others... it's just a matter of if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all...

IMHO:

There is conflict no matter where you are - family, friends, work, and public forums like this. It has nothing to do with being 'childish' or 'high-schoolish' or 'pre-k-ish'...it has more to do with disagreeing parties or varying personalities.

It's easy for things to escalate on public forums like this b/c 99.9% of the time you don't know who's behind the other screen, and you have nothing at stake by antagonizing, attacking, or defending yourself or others. If you don't know the person you're having conflict with - you have nothing to lose by responding.

Yes, everyone has their opinions, and some have a varying technique of not being so blunt, honest, nasty, etc...that's what happens when you're dealing with different personalities.

I've had my share of 'drama' here, and I've learned lessons about myself and what the argument was about. People are people, and will be how they are - don't expect it to change on a public forum, and honestly for some people it IS NOT common sense to be nice.
