How many of u girls have done your taxes already and were u pleasantly surprised with your return? I'm still waiting for my accountant to call me and give me the news - we could use the $$$ right now so i'm keeping my fingers crossed

Did our taxes about 2 weeks ago and got our fed refund already in our account. We e-filed. We knew about how much we would get back (it doesn't vary that much from year to year for us)

Your accountant didn't tell you while you were there how much you were getting back?

ME AND FH BOTH DID OUR TAXES AT THE SAME TIME. WE E-FILED ON 2/13/06 AND THE MONEY WAS IN OUR ACCOUNT ON 2/24/06. I HAD ORIGINALLY DONE MY TAXES ONLINE (TURBOTAX) USING MY 2004 ITEMIZATION. THEN I GAVE THEM TO A FRIEND OF OURS WHO JUST OPENED HIS OWN TAX BUSINESS.....HE TRIPLED MY RETURN. NEEDLESS TO SAY I'M QUITE THE HAPPY WITH HIM. HE'S IN THE BABYLON AREA. IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED, FM ME.

no he never does. first we have to go to his office and leave all our documents with him because he's always super busy and then he does them on his down-time and usually we can find out what we're getting about a week later. it's a PIA but last year I got back a nice refund, i'm just hoping it's the same this year

I did mine and I'm getting $$ back, but I actually thought I would get more because I just bought a co-op this year too...but I was wrong. I also changed my exemptions to 0 instead of 1. I guess I should be happy that I'm getting back and hopefully I do better next year which would be helpful a couple of mths before the wedding.

mine are done (FH is an accountant) and i already got my refund back!!!

I shouldnt get too excited, it all went to my bills!!! :(

I did - I used turbo tax.

FH hasn't done his yet. My return went to savings, his will go for bills

I did mine like a month ago :) I did them on line and e-filed. I received my federal refund like 5 bus. day later :) It went to a cc bill and the rest into savings.

i havent done mine yet. I think im gonna use turbo tax - still need statements from the bank ...

is turbotax good? i dont know if i should use the $20 or the $40 one ...

I actually just finished them with TurboTax. I absolutely love the program. It takes me 40 minutes and it's done! Getting back a nice chunk from the Feds, but I owe the state $2.00. It could have been worse!
