Did you or Will you hire a 'Day Of' Coordinator? (with POLL)

It kind of seems worth it to let someone else sweat the details the day of the wedding. I know my mom and me... we will be so nervous about making sure everything goes right, and nothing is forgotten that day. MY mom keeps worrying about who is going to bring stuff from the church to the reception... this would solve that problem. I met a woman at the Extravaganza yesterday who was SO nice. I would love for her to help the day of, but she charges $750! I think that's a bit much. My mom thinks we should hire someone for the day (I was surprised she said that, but we totally saw the value in doing that after speaking to the woman yesterday). What do you think?

Re: Did you or Will you hire a 'Day Of' Coordinator? (with POLL)

I hired Francesca from Dazzling Affairs. I have entirely too much going on the day of to not have a professional in charge. (groom is arriving by boat, guests are arriving by limo, parking at ceremony is a logistical nightmare - hence the limo transport, and if I win lotto, I'm arriving by horse & carriage)

I interviewed a bunch, and decided on Francesca based on her personality, the services she offers, and her experience. (and $$) My comfort level has increased dramatically, and my stress level has decreased dramatically since the day I signed that contract. She has already been a godsend!! Gotta love email!!!

I used Laura from LA Productions. She was awesome. Could I have done it myself? Asolutely. But - I can honestly say that my wedding day was one of the most stress-free days of my life because of Laura.

Re: Did you or Will you hire a 'Day Of' Coordinator? (with POLL)

I hired Rosalie from Expressions and she will be a great help so no one in my family or myself has to worry about calling vendors or making sure all the pics I want taken are done by the photographer. I am very organized but I just don't want to have a worry that day so I hired her for the day and she comes to the rehearsal at the church too.

Can't vote since my option isn't there. I hired a regular coordinator and she will also be our day of coordinator.

I don't know too much about DOC. Where can I get more info. Also, about how much money do they cost?

Didn't have one and felt totally fine...had friends/family handle stuff that wasn't pre-wedding and my BM and bridal attendant handled everything amazingly at the reception so it wasn't necessary (for me at least).

sorry! I couldn't fit any more options! lol. I'm laning more and more towards getting a day-of coordinator, though. Does anyone know if a day-of also means they will recommend certain vendors to go to? Or does that then qualify as a full-fledged wedding coordinator?

You are describing a wedding planner...I think that would cost a little bit more...A coordinator confirms vendors prior and then guides you the whole day of your wedding

I hired Rosalie, and even though she is a DOC, I can say she was already worth it. She has been supportive, great with ideas and advice, has gotten me discounts where needed, she has been beyond helpful! The best decision we made!

I hired Laura from LA Productions. You should contact her for pricing because she has all different packages. She is wonderful and I feel so good that she will be handling my special day.

Re: Did you or Will you hire a 'Day Of' Coordinator? (with POLL)

We are not getting one...too much money!

I have been in weddings and haven't had one and everything went great! With great friends and family and BP too they can help out! And from what I am told, you're in such a daze and on so much excitement and you don't even notice the little things.JMO

But if you feel better about it...totally go for it!

I'm using Laura too -- I agree, I could do this myself or delegate jobs to BP, but I don't want to have to think about anyone but me on my wedding day! In the scheme of things, worth the money I think.
