Re: AFFORDABLE RECEPTION IDEAS?
I'm too familiar with Suffolk county, I live in Nassau. I just wanted to congratulate you on you engagement and let you know that this site is very very helpful. I do know that most reception halls give discounts in the months of November, December, and JanuaryHappy planning

Re: AFFORDABLE RECEPTION IDEAS?
At the time you want to get married, they have good deals at every hall. I looked at a lot of halls, and most of them said, that the cheaper months to get married where January, February and March. Also, try getting married on a Sunday or Friday night instead of Saturday. That will save you a lot of money.
I don't know what you are willing to spend, so I don't know what halls to post.
Here is a few I found that where less money then others.
East Wind (Country Gardens).
Meadow Club
Huntington Town House
Brentwood Country Club
I think Swan Club but, I didn't visit there.
These places give good prices on popular months.
Check all the halls you are interested in, even if it is expensive. See what prices you can get.
Good Luck!!

Re: AFFORDABLE RECEPTION IDEAS?
If you are having a small wedding around 100-125 people check out the Riverview Restaurant and Catering on Oakdale. I went to a wedding there and the food was excellent. It is also on the watre so nice photos too.

Re: AFFORDABLE RECEPTION IDEAS?
Check out the West Sayville Country Club. They have a beautiful room that's right on the water and it wasn't too expensive. I got a quote of 85/pp on a Friday in June, but I'm sure that they would give you a better price for March.

Re: AFFORDABLE RECEPTION IDEAS?
Congratulations on your engagement !!!The ideas on this thread are good -- the Lessings places, the Milleridge. The time of year you're looking at is definitely more affordable. There are so many options, start looking at places and keep in mind the size of your guest list, whether you want to be the only bride or if that doesn't matter to you ...
I looked at the Carriage House at the Milleridge (my brother and SIL got married there and everything was GREAT), and they gave me a great price for a Sat. night in the summer.
Good luck with your planning, and HAVE FUN !!!
