Is $149 a lot for a hotel room for your guests?
I was looking to block hotel rooms for my guests and it looks like the best quote I got today was $149/room. Is this average or high?TIA

What hotel and where on LI?It usually ranges from $120 to $180 but it could be less if you book several room.
Maybe you can negotiate a bit.

Re: Is $149 a lot for a hotel room for your guests?
It's a holiday weekend so that doesn't look too bad. I've paid between $115 and $160 for hotels on LI in the past. Our rooms are $129.

Re: Is $149 a lot for a hotel room for your guests?
I wish ours were that low....they are $189 and $209 for suites....peak season by the wineries.I think you're fine. No matter what you're going to find people that think it's high...but if it's a decent hotel, and makes it more convenient for guests...it's worth it. I've usually paid between $129 and $200 on LI for hotels the night of a wedding.

For a holiday weekend that' s probably good. I think mine are just a little less for a non-holiday weekend in June.

Maybe go online and get quotes from other hotels to show her for that weekend to let her know it's reasonable.

I called a bunch of places and told her about all the quotes. She told me she is gonna call around to get rates herself (she thinks she has some special negotiating powers that I dont have). She will see for herself when she calls these hotels how much they really are.
I asked my mom what she thought a reasonable rate would be and her response was - at the most $100. I think she is crazy.
