Has anybody done a wild animal theme?

I am thinking about having a petting zoo and possibly some other animals for the reception. I am also contemplating using these 3 150 gallon fish tanks that I have for a marine exhibit during the cocktail hour. We also talked about entering riding two lama or donkeys, were not sure yet. If anybody has any ideas please respond. Thanks

Re: Has anybody done a wild animal theme?

We aren't doing a wild animal theme, but we have a bunch of leopard print stuff incorporated because of our cats... I would be nervous about live animals, though. I don't know that adults would be into a petting zoo, and I worry about the animals at that sort of thing. Many people who have them don't treat them well. You could certainly have a lot of fun things to make it a jungle theme... Let me know if you want me to post 'jungle theme' pics - not sure if that's really what you had in mind or not!

Re: Has anybody done a wild animal theme?

I actually went to a wedding where the bride and groom came in on donkeys. i dont remember the significance but they alsi had a small petting zoo for the kids. Actually it was sad, a duck lost its life from a child playing too rough. it was really sad. Im not sure i like the whole idea. some people are allergic.

I'm allergic. If you decide to do it, inform the guests so they are aware.

Re: Has anybody done a wild animal theme?

Did you clear all of this with Jericho Terrace? I only ask because I doubt they would allow it considering they host more than one wedding at a time. Probably also because of something to do with animal rights laws and such.

Re: Has anybody done a wild animal theme?

Interesting...somehow I don't think a hall like JT would allow a petting zoo at the reception. Better come up w/ another idea.

Has to be a joke.

Too many stairs in JT for anyone to arrive by any kind of animal. Even for the Oak Room.

Re: Has anybody done a wild animal theme?

As a vegan, I am just opposed to this whole idea - sorry - you may have people who feel the same way!!!

Who needs drama on your wedding day like that???
