Tomorrow is the big day!!! LASIK
I have my lasik at 10am tomorrow. I am a little nervous, not about the surgery part or the doctor, but that I will be a bad patient and not sit still etc.
Rob took off of work so that he can drive me and WATCH (ew) in the observing room. When I get home I have to take an ambien and go to sleep and then apparently when I wake up I will be fine with the excetion of my eyes being a little tired and dry. I want to go to the GTG sooooo bad, but I guess Ill have to wait it out and see.
The WORST most horrible thing about the surgery....NO COMPUTER or reading for 24hours
:(
I think I may die.. I seriously am on my computer at all times doing school work or work work or chatting here.
I also cannot wear eye makeup for an entire week... but I think I will cheat and skip the last day bc I go back to work on monday and imagine seeing your HS teachers w/o makeup!!!!!
Anyway.. It is highly possible that I will get rob to help me post when I wake up from my nap to let you all know how Im doing. My mom is so scared abou tthe surgery, so today I was harassing her saying that Im going to send fred to seeing eye dog school just in case hahahahaha.
Anyway... "SEE" you all soon!!!! Ill be on and off the rest of the day though so dont worry!

not to be your mom, but if the doc says a week, make it a full week, no cheating!! it may not cause problems, but you don't want to take a chance, right?

Yea Im a complete wuss and probably will do just as they say because Ill be scared.. but UGH.. no maekup at work.. poor kids!

go to the store and buy a book on tape you want to read- it is the best enertainement after surgery
or you can get one from the library - it will help the time go by faster -

Nah I cant do those.. I dont pay attention and have to rewind like 400 times. Im allowed to watch TV so Ill stock up on some movies.

They usually say no makeup because you would be amazed at the bacteria that eye makeup carries. You could have had a small infection pre surgery. They don't want you using the same makeup after surgery in case it has bacteria on it.
Other than that, you are going to do GREAT!!!!!! Millions of people have had it done! Enjoy it!

Good luck! Once you're healed you're going to be so happy! No more four eyes!! (I've been a four eyes since the 4th grade, but I'm terrified of lasers).
Enjoy your newfound eyesight!
The laser is only on for less than 5 seconds... I think youd be fine!

Hooray for you Jen! I had my surgery two years ago and it was the greatest thing that I have ever done for myself. You will be fine. I didn't have any of the typical side effects that you hear about: dry, scratchy eyes. Relax and get ready to enjoy your 20/20 vision!

i had it done back in july and i was expecting the worse, i didn't have any pain either! the only annoying part was wearing the plastic things over my eyes at night so i wouldnt' rub them. I might have to go back for enhancement surgery though because i wasn't a canidate for Lasik, but life is great without glasses, epecially since having them from such a young age!
