Sooooooo excited!! UPDATE!!

I have my first belly dancing class tonight! I can't wait!!


UPDATE:

Class was really fun! I'm taking it with one of my BMs. I really need to practice because I can do the wrist circles, but the hip circles I still can't get. I can't believe so much of the work is in bending the knees!

it's so awesome. pretty soon you will be 'shimmying' with the best of them...it's all about the hips and knees!

I don't know where you are taking it, but generally you have to purchase all of that stuff. hip skirts (with the coins on them) are not too expensive, but I would wait to see if you stick with it before investing into the outift.

they do sound nice once you get the hang of it though. most important thing is to have fun..

I'm taking it at the University of Maryland gym. I'm definitely sticking with the one class, because it cost $68. I was hoping a belly chain was included in that price, but we'll see.

wow...that's a GREAT price then...it's actually less than $7 per class (though that pretty much guarantees the only thing your getting is a lesson, no skirt)

I pay $15 per class at a dance studio, though the classes I take at my gym are part of my membership.
