Is anyone else having this problem??
I just booked my reception hall for 07/07/07 (yay!!) and now I am calling hotels in the area to try and get rooms blocked off for OOT guests. They are all telling me it's too early, and to call be when 2006 is over.
Is this normal? Am I planning way to far in advance??

Chickie! It's right near a holiday so they should be taking early reservations.. maybe they want you to wait till 7/2006?
I plan on trying to make reservations for OOT in the next week or two... hmmm
What hotels did you call? Maybe try to call back and ask for a manager?

Re: Is anyone else having this problem??
As soon as I booked my hall, I reserved rooms. I don't see why they would not do that for you. Maybe if you are willing to leave a deposit they would do it?We had to change our date once because the hotels in the area were booked already and we did not want to chance it. for oot guests.

I would speak to the sales coordinator. They should be able to give rates. I have my contract already signed with the rates my guests will receive. We cannot block any room until 1 year prior to the wedding date.

Just wanted to check if you knew their policy...you have to put like $1,000 down for 10 rooms. We just blocked a few weeks ago.

Re: Is anyone else having this problem??
I blocked out rooms at Eastwind the day I booked the wedding. There is only 50 - 53 rooms there and the hotel is booked full almost every weekend. I had to change the date of my wedding once because the hotel was booked. You have to remember, there are 3 weddings going on there and the place books up fast. You have to leave 50% deposit down and you don't get it back until a week or so before your wedding.
Good luck

Re: Is anyone else having this problem??
I am blocking my rooms at The Inn at Fox Hollow. I have already blocked them. They called me about 2 months ago and set it all up. I would keep trying till they let you do it. Especially since its a holiday weekend and alot of brides are getting married on the same day.Welcome New Vendors
