Addressing Invites Ques...'and' vs '&'
when addressing the outer envelopes, it is correct to use 'and' or '&'? Is there a correct place to use each? Is it Mr. and Mrs. _______ ?Is it Mr. ______ & Guest or Mr. __________ and Guest? I'm confused!!

also - the word guest should not appear on the outer envelope, only the inner

What do you mean? What if I am inviting a single friend with a guest? I should only include her name on the outside envelope. I thought it should read...'Ms. Jane Doe and Guest'

I'm getting everything ready to go. I'm going to order them in a couple of weeks and am going to get the envelopes printed when I order the invites (from the same place). I'm going to send them out a little early because the wedding is right after a holiday

from what i understand the outer envelope says ms. jane doe and the inner says ms. jane doe and guests. i've spoken w/ single friends who have told me that it's embarrasing for them to have the words and guest written on the outer envelope for everyone to see.
