I was wondering the same thing after being quoted $1149, and seeing that people have done it themselves! I'm always afraid that I'll get all the materials to do a project, and regret not having it done professionally after I mess it up!

Plus, I have a stinky computer and printer, and I really don't want the printing to look bad, even if I can put the thing together myself. Help!

I attempting DIY pocketfolds and became very fustrated. It is very timeconsuming so I would recommend having others help you. They are gorgegous...good luck and have fun.

I did our invites and honestly, it was not that hard. I used pre-cut cardstock that I bought from paper-source.com.

I printed everything in MS Word and honestly didn't find it that time-consuming. I only had 90 to make, and did one step a day.

Printing - first day
Sorting the inserts - second day
gluing - third day
envelopes & stamps - etc...etc...etc.

My DIY Invitations

i'm making ours. bought the pocketfolds for 75 cents from www.cardsandpockets.com. bought paper from www.paperandmore.com. we didn't get paper pre-cut b/c we are using it for other stuff as well, but i seriously think cutting is going to be the worst of it.

Thanks guys. I think I would be too scared to buy all the materials and spend all that money for them to look bad. Maybe I should go with another option. Pocketfolds are soooo nice but so expensive for invitations.

I did my own pocketfolds as well, and I though the cutting was going to be the worst too, but I went to kinkos and they have this amazing cutter that cuts cardstock perfectly, and alot all at once. Cut down on my time big time! All you have to do is give them the dimensions to cut to and ......viola!

not dumb... i didn't know either. I never heard of them before until LIW. Here is a picture of what they look like... its basically just everything is put together in an envelope fold and neatly tucked away.
