Dinner Recipes needed!!

Is there a recipe thread? If so could some one bump it for me?

If not then I think we need to start one. I think we all should post recipes.

I just recently moved in with FI. I never have any idea what the h*ll to make for dinner.
God I sound like my mother (love you mom!)
I want something that is quick and easy to make with very littie ingredients. I don't want something that contains spices that I have never heard of before. I want stuff that I can buy in the grocery store. I am inexperienced with cooking so I could use all the advice, help, and suggestions that I can get :

Thanks ladies!

Re: Dinner Recipes needed!!

In college we always made 'sizzlin chicken ceasar salad' it's real easy and it's yummy. the trick is you have to use Newman's ceasar dressing. cut up chicken, dice peppers and onions. saute peppers and onions until tender, cook chicken and serve hot over salad and NEWMAN'S! it's fast, easy and delicious! I know it doesn't it have the 'WOW' factor of a meal, but it's quick and yummy.

Re: Dinner Recipes needed!!

MY FH has put a few of my recipes on the 'keeper' list, especially because we're both trying to be healthy.

1) grill or broil chicken (I bought the Pampered Chef Food Thermometer, which is my new best friend because everything comes out PERFECT every time).

2) boil chopped broccoli

3) make brown rice.

Put it all together in a bowl, and sprinkle garlic salt on it. SOOOOO good (and only 6 points on weight watchers... and the broccoli makes you feel like you're eating a LOT more. SO yummy!)

___________________________

Last night I made whole wheat penne pasta and mixed it with sweet peas and red kidney beans, light Ragu tomato sauce and light ricotta cheese. He labeled that a 'keeper' too.

Also, go buy one of Rachel Ray's 30 minute cook books. I made a Honey Balsamic Chicken recipe from one of them, and we LOVED it. And it looked just as pretty as it tasted, so I'm going to make this for V-day.

You can make tacos or fajitas with chicken or ground turkey. Just use light sour cream, salsa, and fat free tortillas. Very easy... but it looks like you put a lot of work into it.

Hope you like some of these! I actually LIKE cooking, especially for my FH!

Re: Dinner Recipes needed!!

i swear by allrecipes.com since they automatically adjust the ingredients and times for your portion size and offer a range of ways (beginners vs. full fledged chefs) to make the same dishes.
