Disney Honeymoon
My fiance and I are planning to go to Disney for our honeymoon. I'm torn between the Polynesian Resort & the Grand Floridian, LOL. I was just wondering if its worth the money to get the concierge suite or just stay in a regular room with either the lagoon view or garden view.

Re: Disney Honeymoon
I LOVE the Polynesian. We stayed there for our first Disney trip. And all of the rooms have been renovated. They all have flat screen TVs now!I wouldn't bother with conceirge, but that is just me. We got the Disney Dining Plan, and plan to eat at lots of restaurants. I wouldn't end up taking advantage of the concierge lounge, so it wouldn't be worth it for me. I would spend more money to get a lagoon view room.

Re: Disney Honeymoon
I stayed at the GF in a regular room and it was perfect. We also got the dinig plan and that was great to have.

Re: Disney Honeymoon
We just went to Disney for my birthday so I have lots of good tips for you!Definitely the Floridian over the Polynesian - IMO. The other hotel that is amazing is the Hyatt Grand Cypres - - it is off Disney property but 2 exits away from EVERYTHING (the parks, downtown, etc..). I had already stayed at the Floridian and it was recommended to stay at the Hyatt and we loved it!! We got a lake view room with balcony - gorgeous! They have a pool, beach, lake, horse back riding, golf, etc. all on property. The Grand Floridian allows you to take the monorail everywhere and it gorgeous! Splurge on the rooms with the best view!
Here are some of the BEST restaurants that we LOVED:
Emerils in City Walk (unbelievable food - reservations are a must)
Fultons Crab House (downtown disney)
Restaurant in the Contemporary (forgot the name) with firework seating so you can see the fireworks going off above the castle while you eat - so romantic! Make sure you make reservations way ahead and specify you are on your HM so you get the best table!!
Also - we had a great guide book that told us everything (the unofficial guide to disney) - definitely worth going on amazon and ordering it!
You are going to have a great time!!!!

We're going to Disney the week after you for our honeymoon! We booked a one room villa at Disney's Beach Club villas (separate from the Yacht and Beach Club hotel). One of our priorities was a king sized bed and jacuzzi or hot tub in the room. This room has what we wanted, plus this is the resort with the 3-acre, heated, sand bottomed pool. I'm hoping we made the right choice! The Polynesian, I was told, only has Queen sized beds (weird). The concierge at the Grand Floridian would have come to over $6,000!!! We could go to Italy for that much $$! Our package at Disney's Beach Club Villas is around 4,000 for everything but the airfare. Please let me know what you find out... I was told we can always switch, even though we already put the down payment down on our hotel. I would definitely stay at a Disney resort, though, since there are definitely benefits.
