how do i get a picture next to my name? i dont even know what its called!

Go to 'my account' and at the bottom you can select a picture for your avatar (below your name) and also your profile pic.

You would have to have pics in your browser (basically pics saved in 'My pictures' on your computer) whether they be ones of you or pics of flowers, dresses, etc.
