I realized that according to THE NEW OFFICIAL 07 Brides List

Many are getting married on either Fridays or Saturdays oppose to Sundays. Do you guys think that it looks bad getting married on Sunday? As you all can see I have picked the Sunday of Columbus day weekend, thinking that many people may have that Monday off. Good or bad idea? I know the wedding is still so far away, but everything is driving me crazy already. I am so nervous!!!

I am getting married the day before Labor Day that is also a Sunday. I think it is a great idea.

don't worry, I choose a sunday!! I didn't want to do a sat bc its so friggen expensive, and I didnt choose friday bc i didnt want people to have to rush home from work. I have been to both sundays and friday weddings, and I enjoy sundays alot more.

Thanks guys I appreciate the input! Let me just ask what was the price difference for you guys from a Saturday to a Sunday? Mine was $55 more a plate, with exactly everything that I already have on my menu.

If I had to choose bw a Fri or a Sun wedding I would def go for Sun ... IMO (no offense to anyone) a Fri wedding involves rushing too much - esp for a girl - rushing to get home from work, your hair and nails have to be done already, you ahve to rush to get dressed, then makeup - i just dont think theres enough time to get ready to go to a fri wedding ...

My place was like $30 less a head also for a Sunday or Friday, but since the reception hall is far, I figured Sat would be better and people don't have to worry about running home for work the next day. I am also having my ceremony at the hall, so I was worried that if I had it on a Friday most could not make it in time.

I got married on a Sunday and everyone came and had a good time. Not one person commented about the day. For me, I think it was almost $50 more per plate for a Sat. night!

Sunday is a great idea!! Especially on a Holiday weekend. I got the best deal on a Friday thats why I booked it. Dont worry!!

i booked sunday in order to save money, because it was i think 30+ more to do a saturday and the minimum was 200 for a saturday.

Everyone in my family gets married on a Sunday..in the old tradition you get married on the holy day....and anymore....its better price wise. People who love you and your FH will be there no matter when it is. And trust me...every family member and friend who has been with us at Sunday weddings...either take the next day off or call in anyways...I've never seen people leave early.

And if this makes you feel any better...I'm getting married on Labor Day, which falls on a Monday!!! I thought that was bad...but my hall was going to charge more than they would for a Saturday night on that labor day sunday because people had off that monday.

And by having it Labor Day monday they took almost 15 off a head, which made it easier for me to get the raw bar and the venetian. We already tell people and they are already planning accordingly and taking the next day off!

Trust me,,,,those that matter will be there. no matter what, because they love you!

I didn't want a Sunday and I am getting married that same weekend, I don't see anything wrong with it though esp. if that Monday people will be off...FH's cousin is doing the same thing in feb of that year before mid winter recess because they both have of, they are teachers

i'm having a friday wedding..and i figure if my guests can't make the ceremony they have plenty of time to get there for the reception

I'm having it the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend also...I was a little worried at first, but I'm hoping everything will turn out fine.

I dont think its a problem...COlumbus day is not a real holiday anyway jk...just send out your STD's early so everyone knows. Also, if people want to come, they will come reguardless of the day of the week. So dont stress yourself out.
