has anyone heard this before..or am I nuts..
I wanted to go check out JT's bridal show tonight and my FH asked why we would even go there if we wouldn't book it.. so I said well maybe if we like it we will... and he said why would we if one of his best friends are getting married there within a few months of us. He said we can't do that! Why couldn't we book the same hall as one of his friends????

Re: has anyone heard this before..or am I nuts..
I am in a similar situation. Three of my other cousins and myself are all getting married within one year of each other. One cousin leads off this November, another cousin April 07, another July 07 and then me in October 07. (yes...INSANE!! Money is FLYING out the door!!) FH and I did not want to look at any of the halls they booked because it is so close together. But I think with a friend it is different. If it was a friend that was having a wedding close to mine, I think I would have considered the same hall. It's just with family there are so many of the same people, I did not want the same hall as my cousins. But Fh was going back to say he did not want to look at a hall that his cousin got married at 10 years ago...now that's nuts!
I think you would be fine looking at a hall. Plus, tell your FH you will just be looking at the vendors - the same vendors at JT may eventually be your house vendors as well or even just a vendor you may want to choose. If you end up liking JT, then I say go for it and book it!

Re: has anyone heard this before..or am I nuts..
i think its all personal preference. There is no problem getting married at the same place.I personally rather get married at a different place. There is no specific reason, I just want things about my wedding to be different than every other wedding we went to...for ex. different place, different colors, etc.
i know it mind sound silly...it probably is..ha

I wouldn't do the same place. I can't explain why, but I would do it somewhere else. Meeting with vendors is fine.

Re: has anyone heard this before..or am I nuts..
Actually I booked the same place that one of my friends had her wedding at. FH and I loved the place so much we knew the day of their wedding we would probably come back to the place when it was time for us....And that's exactly what happened! If its only 1 friend or family member I don't see why not, but if more than 1 friend got married there I don't think I would've done it....XOXOXOXO

Re: has anyone heard this before..or am I nuts..
I am crazy like that, I know its nuts but I wouldn't even look at the places my cousins and friends got married, I want my wedding to not be compared to theirs, I want people to get to experience a different place, but I don't think it hurts to lookthis is JMO

Wow you have a crazy couple of years also!! It doesn't help either that I am in two of the three cousin's BPs! Plus, we have two friends getting married in 2008 and FH brother will soon be engaged as well! I guess we have hit that age! It will be fun though!

I am lucky that I am not in any of the weddings, but I am excited because since I am the last one to get married I get some great ideas of things I want to do and don't want to do...I am sure 2008 will be busy too, i have no idea who will be engaged by then

i would probably choose a different place.. we were going to book sandcastle, but we found out my FH friend booked there already, and his wedding is in May. we wanted somewhere different, that his friends didn't see a month prior to our wedding...

I think it's a personal preference. My sister had a wonderful wedding and I loved the place, but then people would think back to her day or how it was for her and iw anted something unique - it's really up to you, if you don't mind and you love the place then go for it!
